The rooms are comfortable, and you get a nice little breakfast each day. The vibes in the area are fantastic. Staff are friendly; but don't book your tours or trips here.

Beautiful national park and the amenities in the surrounding...
Beautiful national park and the amenities in the surrounding town are plenty. It was easy to walk around, although take notice of the traffic on the main road. It got pretty busy and fast sometimes. We stayed near our resort for meals within walking distance- El Wagon was a good family spot for dinner's not spent at our resort. We had an excellent lunch and cup of coffee at Emelio's Café. The town has plenty of grocery stores for any daily needs.
We only tried two beaches. Playa Bisanz had tricky parking and the guys watching cars honestly looked a bit sus. We did not stay there for long. Playa Manuel Antonio was absolutely beautiful. The park fee/ reservations keep it low key and it's well worth the visit and admission fee. The water was warm and the beach clean. Watch your belongings as the capuchin monkeys that bounce around are more than happy to raid your bag, as we witnessed happening to one of our fellow beachgoers.
If you're driving yourself to the park, take notice of the official parking. The locals are harmless but a bit aggressive with trying to get you to park in their lots so they can charge you. We got forced into a lot by a gentleman jumping into the road, then kicked out when we told them we didn't want a guided tour with them. We laughed it off, as we could have easily just driven around him. If you book your adventures with a company, they all offer transpiration.
That said, a guided tour with a reputable company (We did Jade Tours) for the national park is a must. We saw WAAAAY more than we would have on our own, including a sloth fight. Well worth the fee.
We also did a kayak/mangrove tour with Narcacosta and a guided horseback/waterfall tour with Brisas del Nara- I cannot say enough good things about either one of these organizations. Top tier experience, knowledgeable guides, and beautiful facilities.

I forgot to mention before about the assistance I got from the customer service representative ELISABETH. She helped me since the very begin of my reservation to the very end with great knowledge, efficiency and patience. I am I little challenged with the internet but she was right there for me, did not matter the time. We are all lucky for having her.

Good beaches.
Good beaches. Espadilla, even when crowded, is large enough that you can walk a little and get a fairly empty beach if you prefer. A car is a must-have if you plan to explore the town, but you're not missing much if you stay in a resort with beach and jungle access the whole time. The most expensive restaurants are good, all others are nothing special and just okay to not be hungry. You'll get better treatment as a foreigner because people expect tips, so definitely take advantage of that if you are one.

Mid-February is very hot and humid for this area - 90 degrees Fahrenheit everyday. We really enjoyed visiting the park and seeing rainforest wildlife, swimming at the beaches (watch out for strong rip tides!), and familiarizing ourselves with an area we had never been to before. Be ready to pay tourist prices (you are in a high tourism area - and it is so for a good reason), but if you can get an apartment with a kitchen, visiting the Quepos farmer's market and being able to make some of your own meals make this area more affordable. Glen's on the beach has the best chairs and his whole family is so kind and helpful. Going into the park for the first time with a guide is highly recommended, but so is going a second time on your own at your own pace. Get there first thing in the morning, because it heats up and gets busy after 9 AM. Eat at the Falafel Bar, like everyone says, because it is delicious (the smoothies are really refreshing). The public busy is easy to navigate, so use it and explore! Favorite activity in the area, other than the national park, was by far the Night Damas Mangrove Tour with Iguana Tours. Explore and have fun!
Very nice resort-spa in the middle of nature with its own monkey trail. Nice rooms and great pools, nice food at the restaurants. Staff were
super nice and helpful. We haven’t seen much wild animals during our first days at other places in Costa Rica, but at this hotel we saw the most animals just by sitting at the pool; sloths, monkeys, ara’s, tucans, lizards etc.. 🤩 This place is very recommended to people who want to have a relaxing time but also see animals en want to do things like hike (at manuel antionio park and monkey trail)
This hotel is a great value. The location can't be beat, we walked right next door to the Manuel Antonio National Park, and could hear howler monkeys from our hotel room. The hotel has an attached restaurant that has really good food and drinks for good prices, which is very convenient. The beach is right across the street from the hotel as well. Although the towels are small and thin, and the ac unit isn't the strongest, the room was comfortable and roomy, and the shower pressure and hot water was excellent.
The location can’t be beat! The room was clean. Staff was friendly. Cold AC. Hot sower. Decent WIFI. Tasty typical Costa Rican breakfast. Is the property older? Yes. Is it a fancy resort? No. Are there cracked tiles. Yes. Manuel Antonio is an expensive place to visit. And for the cost and location it can’t be beat. Review complaining about bugs… you are in a jungle. Noise? You are less than a block from the busiest National Park in the country. O highly recommend this place for a no frills stay.
Very clean. Great location - 6 minute walk to Manuel Antonio national park, 4 minute walk to the beach, lots of restaurants nearby. Trust me you don't want to drive around Manuel Antonio! The monkeys come to the hotel in the evening, so you don't even have to go to the park :) They make their own oven baked pizza. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were great, and they can make you an omelette that you want or pancakes or there are lots of other options to choose from.
Friendly reception staff. Nice spacious room with good air con. Nice pool area with good happy hour! Lovely breakfast included. Amazing location for Manuel Antonio Park (200m up the road) and very short walk (in other direction) to beach for sunset. Hotel gave us a voucher for free bottle of wine at nearby restaurant Puerto Escondido - delicious!!! Tuna tartar was amazing. BIG portions. Live music! Hotel were helpful when we needed to organise a taxi to next destination at short notice.
We liked the different breakfasts on offer. The rooms were a good size and great to have a balcony to enjoy the views of the garden. Loved seeing the wildlife around the hotel grounds too. We had a day by the pool which was relaxing and we took the local bus to the beach and Manuel Antonio Park. It was easy to walk to the local restaurants in the evening such El Avion and El Wagon. We also enjoyed the happy hour cocktails and had a good meal at the hotel in the evening.
Our room was next to pool area with mutiple cabanas with beds. Pool side bar. Beach is about 5 mins from hotel. Manuel Antonio Park entrance is 7-10 mins walk from hotel. No need for a car if staying here. Local bus on main beach road can take you around area to next town, it runs frequently. Beach area has surfing, dining, atm, small shops, cheap beach tent rentals. We originally booked only one night but decided to stay 3 instead for the end of a 16 days vac.
If you arrive early you can use the hotel facilities.Very helpful staff, made our stay really enjoyable
Close from Manuel Antonio National Park
Good breakfast with 4 kinds of fruit every day, good coffee, good pancakes good salted choices. The restaurant is placed in a wonderful setting .
We didn’t use the pools but appreciate the nearby beach
Coffee machine and coffee is available in the room
Good bedding ( had the best sleep in Costa Rica)
This hotel is ideally located if you want to spend a day at the beach or are visiting the national park. We couldn't get tickets for the national park, and arrived way before check in, however the hotel were happy for us to park our car and leave our bags securely with their front desk, while we spent the day on the beach. We really enjoyed our stay here. I travelled with my mum.
The location of his hostel is great: close to the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park and to the beach. Rooms are basic but fine. The bathroom is shared with no hot water. The staff was very friendly and brought us a very extensive breakfast each day. The restaurant of the hotel is good too! We ate there both nights, as it's also much cheaper than other restaurants in the village.
We got 1 room and 1 apartment. The room was very nice, big and spacious. The apartment was ok, not big but comfortable enough. everything was clean and the staff was very nice and helpfull. The location was good, not far from the bus, the beach and Manuel Antonio park. The price was very reasnoble (in Costa Rica standarts) and altogether we had a good experience
Heaps of showers and toilets that were cleaned at least twice a day (never had to wait). Hot showers with good pressure. Moroccan restaurant was nice with fresh yummy healthy bowls and fast service. Hotel and property are lovely with nice pool and walking trails. 10min walk to Manuel Antonio town and where you can catch the bus to the national park/beach.
Beautiful views of the pacific.
Hotel staff was accommodating when I realized the room I booked was only accessible by stairs (which I was unable to do). They placed us in a suite on the main level.
Front desk was great at helping us organize a shuttle service to the beach and tour to Manuel Antonio National Park.
Breakfast and Dinner was excellent. Some of the best food we had in Costa Rica. I absolutely loved the Curry Red Snapper for dinner.
Great place to see wildlife. We saw more animals in birds at the hotel than we did at Manuel Antonio. Two toed sloth, macaws that arrive every evening around 5 pm. Toucans seen daily.
Beautifully located right on the beach and close to the beautiful Manuel Antonio park. Nice rooms, friendly staff and comfortable beds. Also loved the nice restaurants up in the hills (Anaconda/ Avion) that provide a beautiful panaroma view of the bay and its birds and monkeys.
Wonderful hotel in a great junglelike park, best breakfast we had in Costa Rica, very nice swimming pool and terrace with view in the beautiful park - in the morning and in the evening monkeys could be heard, a big variety of birds flew by and we even saw Tukans in the garden.
The location is perfect, very close to Manuel Antonio National Park and the beach. The room was big and the complementary breakfast and the nearby restaurants was a very pleasant surprise! The owner was friendly and the cleaning done everyday was impeccable.
Very quaint and unique…what most are looking for when they think of a hotel in Costa Rica. Simple, clean accommodations in a great setting. Easy walk downhill to Quepos. You will get your daily workout walking back up (or take a cheap taxi ride)!
Friendly staff, very clean room. The cleanest towels we had so far in Costa Rica's hotels ( we already travel for 3 weeks). Good location, jungle close by.
