We had a stay of one night after our stay at the other villa of Shameera. Also this Villa is a great place to be, really fantastic. Once again, the host Shameera is a wonderful guy. He is so kind and polite, he helped with everything. eg giving some really good hints, what to do and what kind of activities are good to join. It was our pleasure to stay in this Villa also and also to meet such a great person like Shameera. Thank you for everything, you have done for us. Great room with a nice balcony with river view, good airco, nice shower, good bed. Friendly owner who offers a free transport to the other side of the lake, where you have access to the beautiful Ventura beach. This beach is easily one of the best beaches we have seen in Sri Lanka: unspoiled, tranquil, very nice zand, cute waves... just incredible! Make sure you get there to enjoy this still widely unknown hidden gem.

Excellent. a piece of quiet paradise. lush surroundings. clean pool. delicious breakfasts. Cottage very large. huge partially outside bathroom. staff very helpful. they organised massage at R12,000 for two hours. R300 tuk tuk from train station or walkable 20 mins to town. delicious dinners delivered. cold beers. laundry brought back the next day. bakery across the road. in all highly recommended. I’d give it a 11/10!!

This accommodation was absolutely great! The best accommodation in Sri Lanka. The room is very clean and well equipped. The bed is very comfortable, pillows too. The room has air conditioning, fan and access to a spacious balcony. The host is very nice and helpful. The host greeted us very friendly and prepared fresh flower in the room. The host speaks English and recommended us to take the bus to the airport, he had a very personable approach, picked us up at the bus stop when we arrived. For dinner the host took us by tuktuk to their favourite restaurant (the name is Wave) and picked us up again by tuktuk after dinner. It was possible to leave our backpacks downstairs at the front desk after check out. Breakfast was fabulous. We had a big and very good breakfast (pineapple juice, a full plate of fruit, eggs and toast with jam and butter, and there were a few Sri Lankan specialties). Highly recommended! Absolutely perfect.

EVERYTHING! The owner is a very friendly lovely lady. The room was super clean, the location is an amazing quiet area, 3 mins walk to the beach. We also got a MASSIVE breakfast. Everything was just fantastic. Can’t wait to visit again <3

We loved Channa Villa and Bentota so much we booked an extra night, if we'd know we would have spent less time in Mirissa and more time here. The standard of accommodation was the best we had stayed in through out the whole of our trip to Sri Lanka. The rooms were a good size, beds were comfortable, with soft pillows and clean linin. We had a fridge in our room and the use of a shared kitchen which was spotless and we were able to make our own tea and even make our own toast for breakfast as we had bought bread from the local supermarket. Close to the railway line, but you could hardly hear the trains from our room, a short 5 minute walk to the beach, which was the best beach by far. Plus close to a few restaurants dotted along the railway track. And of course friendly staff

If you are looking for accommodation with nice vibes, friendly hosts and good food, look no further. Free House is perfect. My partner and I have been travelling for 8 months and this accommodation has been a highlight for us. I highly recommend getting the breakfast. It’s a generous Sri Lankan style breakfast and we enjoyed learning about how everything is cooked. There is also a small patisserie out the front serving a selection of baked goods that we enjoyed. The hosts are both very talented when it comes to making food. The room was perfect, wifi worked well, good air con and a comfortable bed. Book now!
