I booked this hotel based on the glowing reviews, and I can happily confirm: the service is absolutely true to the hype! The location is fantastic if you're visiting the park, as it's just a few meters' walk from the Zhangjiajie Forest Park entrance bus stop; if you take the transit bus from the railway station, you can hop right off at the park's icon, and we even got a handy pickup from the South Gate when we arrived. While it’s slightly outside the downtown core, that wasn't an issue since you can ride the public bus before 6 pm and then take a taxi or Didi back for a reasonable fare. The heart of this place is the family staff: the daughter who manages the front desk is a rockstar, and despite a language barrier, she was incredibly patient, going above and beyond for us and other guests. When our park plans were rained out, she personally walked us to the public bus stop so we could navigate downtown. On our last night, she and her mother sat with us to help book our next day’s activity tickets, patiently answering all my first-timer questions. As a bonus, I noticed the tickets they helped us book were actually cheaper than the park's entrance fee—what a great surprise! The warm, personalized service and unbeatable proximity to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park make this hotel a must-book. I highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic stay in Heaven Gate Homestay! The location is absolutely perfect — surrounded by local food stalls, supermarkets, and just a short distance from the stunning Tianmen Mountain. Everything was incredibly convenient. A special thank you to our host, Carol, who was truly amazing. She was warm, responsive, and always ready to help — from recommending delicious local food to helping us place orders and explaining everything we needed to know during our stay. Her hospitality made our trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Zhangjiajie!

L’établissement YanYuJian art hotel or Sandstone Painting Handicraft Exchange Gallery Hotel vous accueille à Zhangjiajie, à 22 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Parc forestier national de Zhangjiajie. If I could give an 11/10 for the staff I would. I was very confused as to how to get from Zhangjiajie West train station to the hotel. Two staff members came to pick me up. They also arranged an early check in, and helped me book a taxi to Wulingyuan and another one back to the station the next day. The room was beautiful and clean and the hotel was just a 20 minute drive away from Wulingyuan which is a cheap taxi trip.

L’établissement Xi Valley Apartment vous accueille à 17 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Parc forestier national de Zhangjiajie. Xi Valley Apartment was an absolute gem for our family of three + Nan! The place is huge – two full bathrooms and loads of living space make it perfect for families or a small group that doesn’t want to feel cramped. We stayed six nights and really appreciated how well-equipped it is: powerful A/C in every room, a big fridge-freezer, washing machine, and a proper set of kitchen utensils, so cooking at “home” when we wanted to was a breeze. The Location hit the sweet spot for us. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood about 2 km from the centre of town: just a relaxed 30-minute walk, or a ¥5–6 (AUD $1-2) Didi ride when we had groceries or the little one was too tired to walk. A handy little street only 100 m away from the apartment has a small selection of restaurants (the BBQ spot is fantastic), plus a convenience store, massage shop and chemist. The National Park East Gate is roughly 1 km away, so you can beat the crowds at opening time. Our host was phenomenal. She pre-arranged private cars for both arrival and departure, met us at 11 pm to help with luggage, and was back at 6 am on check-out day! Throughout the week she messaged tips, arranged our 4-day National Park pass and Grand Canyon tickets at a discount, and generally made life easy for Western travellers unfamiliar with the area. Great value, super comfortable, and the kind of personal service that turns a trip into a standout memory. We’d book Xi Valley again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie.

The whole experience was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. The breakfast room with the old Chinese lady preparing the food was phenomenal. Location of the hotel in the city center was very convenient. Enjoyed my stay very much .
