I've visited dozens hotels and guesthouses in China but this one was definitely head and shoulders above all the others. From the picturesque location in a village flocked between the old town and quiet mountain trails, to welcoming and helpful host family, it all made our stay in Shaxi a highlight of the month-long China trip. I'm sure that with time the place is going to only get better. The vegetarian mixian option for breakfast was just a cherry on top.

I liked that there were many breakfast options and local foods nearby the apartment. It made mornings easy, and I got to try different local flavors without going far. Also, the fact that it's close to the subway station was a big plus, making getting around the city even more convenient.

the property was well-maintained and very clean! it had good amenities and the staff were also extremely kind and attentive to our needs. the balcony and tea area in our room were great perks as well and we thoroughly enjoyed using these areas. the view surrounding the area was amazing and the location was conveniently located near places such as 白沙古城.

It was right in the middle of old town, but far away from the bars and restaurants so quite quiet, right next to a stream so felt like staying in nature to some extent. Had our own private courtyard though didn’t use much as spent most of the time outside wandering. Owner was super nice and gave us tips about restaurants to try (and to avoid as tourist traps).
