The place is hands down the most special place I've ever slept in. HANDS DOWN! The experience of living in a medieval home is unbeatable. There's an extremely affordable public parking lot right behind the fortress wall (5 minutes walk) and it's 1.3€ per hour or 6€ per day (weekdays 9-18). The host told us we could park right in front for a few minutes to unload the luggage, but it was no problem walking from the parking lot with everything. The kitchen is fully equipped, so we could have breakfasts at home, quick and cheap (there's a Kaufland close to the old center, but on the other side of it). The hallway was super cold (this is not a down side, you'd never spend time there, as the whole place is upstairs), but the rest of the apartment was warm and cozy, including the room in the attic! This is just to say that the heating is working great there.

I highly recommend for a family stay and will be happy to return back!

The sauna in the Maximilian Appartements was great, private and included in price. The incredible sightseeing nearby.

Its building is recent and of high quality. It is spacious, well built and equiped with fine furniture. It is secured and accessible: it has free parking places and a charging station for electric cars. It is ideally located: Schwangau’s restaurants, pharmacy, grocery stores, lake and thermal bath are at walking distance. When walking around we have a splendid view of the mountains and the famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. We can’t bear nearer to the Königliche Kristall-Therme: on the other side of the apartment’s backyard fence is the parking lot of the thermal bath center! The apartment has a covered terrace and a lawn.
