I truly loved everything about Mario Lakeside. The location is peaceful and beautiful, right by the lake — perfect for relaxing. The room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. What made this place special is the heart behind it. The owner, Pak Ali, is a kind and inspiring person. He also runs a foundation for children with cleft lips in Sumatra — which made my stay feel even more meaningful. Upstairs, there’s a vegetarian café with delicious food. They grow some of their ingredients on-site (farm-to-table concept), and I was blown away by the haloumi sandwich – they even import the cheese from the UK! It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a place that stays with you. I’d definitely come back if I visit Toba again.

Situé à Bukit Lawang, l’établissement Jungle treking & Jungle Tour if you want to stay here, you must book treking only with us propose un jardin. The staff is really nice and they help us with everything. We stayed there for 2 nights and the room was really good for the price that we payed. You got also breakfast with the booking. You have a double bed with private bathroom. They help us with the jungle trekking and we did 3 days jungle tour and everything went perfect, we saw a lot of animals and the guide was amazing. We also did a night trekking to see snakes and other animals that are more difficult to see during the day and it was amazing. Thanks to the team our experience in Bukit Lawang is a 10.

Nous avons passé 5 jours dans cette petite maison au bord de l’eau. C’était magnifique! L’emplacement en bord de mer est sublime et le logement se trouve proche du village et des bonnes adresses pour manger local (poisson frais, cuisine style padang, etc) et faire ses courses. Jennifer, la personne qui gère le lieu, est au top! A notre demande, elle a organisé des visites en bateau des îles voisines, des sessions de snorkeling et meme des cours de surf pour débutants. Elle a été tres attentive et accueillante, et a beaucoup facilité notre depart et notre arrivée (taxis, billets de ferry). C’était une super expérience!

The homestay was very clean and the room was comfortable and equipped with a fan and a key There is a kitchen and 2 showers that are simple but very clean and easy to use

Rating: 10/10 I really enjoyed my stay here. It was a beautiful place and I had a great time. It was possible to make tea and coffee without paying extra and it would have been possible to watch TV. The owner Izoen was very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome and relaxed. I only regret not planning more time to relax in Bukit Lawang. I hope to come back one day!

Right by the lake, you can just walk down and take a swim. Even at night it's really beautiful. There are many restaurants within walking distance as well. The house itself was comfortable. The host Ranti was great as well! She's really funny and helpful. She helped us to book motorbikes and a day tour, both which turned out amazing. It's really convenient to get a ferry back to mainland as well. The ferry can stop right at the house to drop you off/pick you up.

My children are also very comfortable, happy because the room is very spacious for playing around. This apartment is very strategic with the mall above so its easy to find restaurant and located in the middle of the city. The check-in guide is also very clear and thank you for the good hospitality.
