The staff was very welcoming and always available to help. It has an amazing swimming pool, with a generous swimming area and a jacuzzi.

One of the places I’ve felt the most comfortable staying in Sri Lanka. I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting hiriketiya. Property is a few minutes walk from popular restaurants and a 15 min walk from hiriketiya beach making it quiet and peaceful for you to rest. If ever, you can also relax on the lounge chairs and your private pool. Overall, 10/10 and would stay here again.

Awesome atmosphere, great location, amazing staff. everything you could ask from a hostel. AC rooms, good beds, super clean. Kieran the volunteer did an amazing job organizing and hosting fun games and activities. You can buy your own super cheap alcohol and drink it at the hostel too.

Beautiful and grennery garden where you can relax and enjoy the fresh air. A large bedroom with AC a good bathroom. Kitchen. Dining room. Blacony. They also have 2 bikes free of charge. You have 2 minutes to the supermarket 7 minutes waliking to the Talalla Beach. Feels just like home super comfortable! Absolutely recommended

At the apartment complex, units are fitted with bed linen and towels. the host family is really super kind and friendly, making you feel at home. the place is very clean, above the average, and the breakfast generous. just a few mins walking from a very beautiful beach.

We stayed in the small room attached to the main house; it was perfect for us! The bathroom was sooo beautiful haha it was like an outdoor shower surrounded by rocks (pictures on the listing don’t do it justice!!). The bed was super comfy and the AC worked great! It was so nice to come back to the cool space after a day in the heat. Make sure you keep the bathroom door closed or else the mosquitoes will find their way in! The kitchen we were able to use was great and had everything we needed. Lovely family running the place as well. Location was also really nice, jungle beach is close and there’s a nice restaurant next door. Would definitely recommend!!

After staying in a few disappointing guesthouses, House on the Bend was a true breath of fresh air. From the moment I arrived, I finally felt I could relax and unwind. The bed was super comfortable, the shower had great water pressure and temperature, and everything was spotlessly clean

Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. The holiday home offers garden views, a sun terrace and a 24-hour front desk. Home from home! Ruwan and his family couldn’t have made us feel more welcome to their lovely Homestay. Nothing was too much trouble. The room had a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom. The shower was powerful and in the heat a welcome relief. Our room was on the small side but this wasn’t a problem as the outside space had a hammock, table and chairs. Breakfast was served daily by Ruwan and his lovely daughter. It was fresh and plentiful and always delivered with a big smile. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t great and took some getting used to. Ruwan did kindly offer to change our room but we declined as we didn’t want to inconvenience him with another room to clean. However it is only fair to share this information. We stayed 4 Nights with Ruwan and his family and everyday he checked on our welfare, if we needed anything or a ride anywhere. He organised a wonderful Whale watching trip for us, one we would recommend, as a must when in this area. Ruwan kindly cooked us a delicious Sri Lanka. Fish supper despite his wife only day’s earlier giving birth to their son. On New Years Day the family invited us for breakfast in their home. The food was plentiful, delicious and a reflection of this family’s kindness and willingness to share their hospitality with us. I urge Anyone in this area to visit Ruwan and his family if wanting an authentic experience. Ruwan, thank you , we will be back. You are in our hearts forever. Xox
