Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Free transfers to and from the airport and ferry terminal are available. True southern hospitality shown to us! Our bags were collected at the ferry and taken to our unit so we could get to our tour on time. Kaka Retreat was wonderful and we even had a Kaka land a arms length from us at the unit.

A flat-screen TV is available. There is also a seating area and a fireplace. The kiwi batch is clean very warm and a close walk to the beach, shop and ferry terminal. The hosts were great to communicate with and very flexible. Lastly the beds are extremely comfortable 😍

Unique experience all around & all together-being one with nature-the design of the glass cabin. Perfect temperature, layout, design, bedding. WE LOVED IT! No Kiwi SEEN by the cabin area but a walk down the main road resulted in a sighting! The STARS above you & it’s no dream.
