This is the single best b&b/hostel I have every state at. The rings are all clean, well equipped, and the showers are spotless. The location of the main building is very central, and the apartment (available to groups) is just 20mn away and right next to the Taiwan Route 1 cycle path. But the real joy of this accomodation is the host Maple. She is incredibly welcoming, and I mean above and beyond. When it says 'breakfast included', I didn't expect much but on check in Maple took me out to buy dinner at a local restaurant, and in the morning drove me through the morning market and bought me a wondeful breakfast there. She's an incredibly friendly, energetic host and seems to be friends with just about everyone in Changhua! I seriously recommend this property to anyone, particularly the apartment for groups cycling the round Taiwan route.

It's in a great part of town, and the owners are just great: friendly, welcoming and chatty. In a world of cookie-cutter hotels that all feel the same—wherever you are in the world—it's so nice to stay in a guesthouse that feels so distinctive, and so properly human. If you are looking for somewhere glossy and shiny, this isn't the place for you. But if you like dogs, tortoises, music, books, old furniture, quirkiness, and staying somewhere that feels like home, then it's just perfect.

Staying at Beauty Chen’s 2 was a fantastic experience! We had the entire townhouse to ourselves, which meant complete privacy and free use of the bicycles to explore. The location is great—just off the main road, with convenience stores and shops nearby, making everything easily accessible. The solar shower had great heat and pressure, and the air conditioning was strong, with a soothing white noise effect that helped mask any street sounds. Since cafés and restaurants tend to close early, we quickly adjusted to cozy nights in, enjoying the three English movie channels available in the bedroom TV. One small improvement? The bedroom TV could have been a smart TV, as we didn’t use the living room TV, which may have had that feature. Ha ha!
