A Perfect Solo Escape – 10 Stars Aren’t Enough! I stayed here alone this summer, hoping to unwind, recharge, and enjoy a bit of peace by the lake — and this hotel exceeded every expectation. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a dream. The setting is unreal: a crystal-clear alpine lake nestled among towering green mountains, with summer sunshine sparkling on the water and wildflowers blooming everywhere. The view from my room — especially from the balcony — was absolutely breathtaking. I often just sat there in silence, taking it all in. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between comfort and charm. It felt cozy and welcoming, but still elegant. Traveling alone can sometimes feel awkward, but here I felt completely at ease. The staff were genuinely kind — always helpful, never intrusive — and made me feel like more than just a guest. Every morning started with a peaceful breakfast overlooking the lake, and every evening ended with a sunset that looked like something from a painting. I spent my days swimming, walking along the shore, hiking nearby trails, and simply enjoying the stillness. This place gave me exactly what I needed: space to breathe, think, and just be. It’s the kind of experience that stays with you — the kind that changes you a little. If you're considering a solo trip and need beauty, serenity, and a true escape — look no further. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Amazing place and amazing location. Very nice view from the resort, we was with small childrens and there is very nice play room for them. The breakfast is amazing and deliver every morning to the chalet. The restaurant was very good and kids friendly and the waiter was very very nice. In the chalet was hut tab outside and sauna . We love this place very much

Everything!! The place is magical, next to the lake providing a breathtaking view. The room was excellent, quite comfortable with a small kitchen for those who want to prepare their own meals. It was very clean, and the room was very quiet. The breakfast was also very delicious. We also tried the restaurant that was also very nice.

Ferienhaus Christern is a recently renovated holiday home in Grundlsee, where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities.

This is a superb apartment in lovely quiet alpine countryside, and Alex was an extraordinarily friendly and helpful host who immediately made us feel very welcome. The accommodation covered the entire first floor of a large country house and had been very well modernised. There was also a nice outside terrace with table and chairs, and a large balcony with lovely views. The apartment was very well equipped and each of the rooms was very spacious and extremely comfortable - a real home from home. A really superb place to stay and use as a base for exploring the wider mountains and lakes region of central Austria. Thoroughly recommended!
