I have stayed here several times. It is very expensive so it makes a lovely treat. Personally I like that it is all „auf Deutsch“. I like to experience a place from that country‘s perspective, plus I can work on my German!

The service was brilliant, everyone was very kind and welcoming. Our bedroom had the most comfortable bed and the shower in the bathroom was very powerful. The room was cleaned to a very high standard and the toiletries were really lovely. Our bedroom looked out over the restaurant and we left our window open during the night to hear the water flowing I'm the river opposite. Appenzell itself is so pretty and everyone is very proud both of the hotel and the local area. Breakfast was also delicious. We would come back Thank you so much for looking after us

Esther is an excellent host who welcomes us warmly and introduces the apartment in details. Welcome drink and snacks are nice. Well-appointed and really spotless apartment with everything neatly set. Nice garden with a clean swimming pool. Greenly country view. Very quiet at night. We also visited the deer farm and my daughters liked it very much. Thank you Esther. Highly recommended. A really relaxing environment that provides all we need for our short stay.
