Dieses 3 km von Füssen entfernte, kleine Boutique- und Designhotel ist ein romantisches Refugium unterhalb von Schloss Neuschwanstein. The best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, always greeting you with a smile — something you truly appreciate after a five-hour journey. The rooms are stunning, with a magical atmosphere and a breathtaking view of the castle. Honestly, the price feels almost too low for what the hotel offers. You can also book tickets for both castles directly through them, and they’ll hand them to you the next morning — super convenient. They offer the possibility to dine at their restaurant as well. We arrived too late for dinner, but they still prepared a tasting platter for two with sausages, cured meats, cheese, cherry tomatoes, and plenty of their delicious homemade bread. We couldn’t even finish it! Breakfast was absolutely outstanding — calling it “complete” would be an understatement. All in all, highly recommended. If I had to point out a flaw, it would be the flies — they’re everywhere. But hey, we still haven’t figured out how to control insect minds, so…

This was my second stay at this hotel. The first stay was in October 2024. As usual, the staff was stellar. Every request and inquiry was acted upon with a cheerful smile and prompt efficiency. They delivered 100% especially when I needed it the most. The hotel is situated across the street from the Bad Reichenhall Bahnhof (train station). No worries since the hotel has excellent soundproofing. The public areas along with the room itself were immaculate. The bathroom had all the expected amenities including hair dryer, soaps and a towel warmer. The A/C runs well and can be adjusted. There is an Aldi supermarket and a store specializing in health products and cosmetics nearby. An Italian pizza restaurant is across the street (order the spinach and salmon pizza), and a Bavarian restaurant is a few blocks away. The Avalon is a family-owned and run business so you get that special attention you can’t get at a chain hotel. I highly recommend this property.

Great location, available parking space, great breakfast and lovely staff. The room was comfortable and had a nice view. We could even see the Neuschwanstein castle from the backyward. The location was amazing and with easy access to Füssen. A free bus ticket was also available. There was also free coffee and a delicious cake.
