Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. We had such an excellent stay at this aubege! Toshi san met us at the train station and within 10 minutes we were in a very quiet place of this auberge. It was a serene stay with delicious breakfast and dinner. Toshi san also has an impressive natural wine selection. We highly recommend getting dinner there. We wish we could stay longer, but it was fully booked for the next nights.

WiFi is accessible at public areas for free, while the private-use hot spring bath is available at a surcharge. Super nice ryokan experience. The newly renovated room type Tamayura has a stunning view.

Location, private onsen in the suite, kaiseki dinner is elegant and delicious, so is the delicious breakfast, both served in our room, it’s a great experience. The staffs are very warm and helpful. It gave free entrance ticket to the big public onsen which is a great extra benefit.
