During check-in the staff provided full information regarding services the hotel offers and timing. The check-in itself was very smooth only 2 mins. Staying at this hotel was a one-of-a-kind experience—like spending a night in an interactive museum, where you can touch each exhibit and feel like a part of history. You can take unique photos, read old books, and gain insight into what life was like in the castle. The surroundings are peaceful and picturesque, and I loved enjoying the mountain view through the window. Our stay was comfortable—the room was clean and fully equipped, and the breakfast was varied and nourishing. The Wi-Fi was occasionally slow, but it turned out to be a perfect opportunity for a digital detox. While having a car might be more convenient, we traveled by train, and reaching the castle on foot from the nearest station or by bus was not a problem. Overall, my expectations were exceeded, and I highly recommend spending a holiday at Matzen Castle.

Located at the entrance to the Karwendel Nature Reserve in Pertisau, the Sonnenhof is next to the Achensee Golf Course. All rooms and apartments have a balcony with panoramic mountain views.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation, clean spacious apartments. Phenomenal breakfast, great selection of quality ingredients, from a diverse range of juices to a selection of salami and cheese. You can order omelette, scrambled eggs or hamenex. I recommend trying their ESS bar restaurant for dinner - it deserves a Michelin star. Extremely helpful staff, including the owner, who always talked to us at the bar and took care of the guests. Great respect - one of the best accommodations we've been to.
