This was the best place in Sri Lanka so far in that price segment. The owner and her team are more than amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The place really felt like a home. I highly recommend getting food there. It was delicious with the best view on the beautiful landscape and the waterfall. Prices are super fair. The location is a little away from the main town which guarantees silence and relaxation, but it’s definitely a little walk over and down some hills, but it’s really worth it.

Don’t miss it if you want an immersive nature staying, terrace view amazing and room had a big comfortable bed, with all the facilities. They upgraded my room i was so lucky, ask for the upper rooms especially for more nights staying. Family owners and staff are very caring and friendly, they helped me arranging daily tour and also gave a take away breakfast (super yummy and appreciated) for my early leaving in the morning. They also spontaneously came for picking me up at night along the way. Feeling safe and comfortable like at home

We had a wonderful stay at this brand new property. The family who runs it are incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The room was immaculately clean, and the location, though slightly outside the busy Ella town, was perfect for us – a tranquil jungle retreat just a 10-15 minute tuk-tuk ride away. Really friendly hosts, who gave us tea and snacks on arrival. Beautiful view from the lookout hut. The beds had nice thick blankets as a warm option which we really appreciated! Very clean and great value also outnof the way of loud places in Ella so not noisy at night!

Our stay at Opal Cottage was divine. We loved the location as it was so tranquil and relaxing, however would recommend your own transport for ease but the host can also assist in drop off's and pick ups from the town if he is available. Our hosts were so kind and really went above and beyond for us, they even put together a surprise to help celebrate my partners birthday. The room was spacey and facilities were great (even had a fridge). Breakfast was indulgent and we highly recommend to anyone who wants to be within nature and away from the bustling town. Room may need a coat of paint but that is really nitpicking, and for us not a big deal at all but some may disagree.

The 6 bed mixed dorm was fantastic, comfy beds and good bathroom, warm shower too. You can do a sunrise guided hike to Ella's rock with the hostel, starts at 4am and only costs 1000 rupees, the guide was great! And Little Adams peak, Ella's rock and 9 arch bridge are all walking distance from this hostel!

I can't describe enough how the staff were nice and cooperative, with a great sense of professionalism and welcoming. The location is amazing to enjoy the scenery of Ella and for any connection to anywhere. The hotel and the rooms are confortable and warm. The food is sooo good ! This hotel is the best I can recommand in Sri Lanka.
