I wanted accommodation were we could see plenty of wildlife and be surrounded by nature. Arenal Observatory Lodge exceeded out expectations. We saw beautiful birds everywhere along with other wildlife. We considered the drive back to La Fortuna to be relatively easy, so did not mind that it was a little bit out of the way. Excellent breakfast and very accommodating and friendly staff. Highly recommend that horse trek here as well.

To top it off, we were treated to the enchanting sight of monkeys playing in the trees during our massage! It felt like something out of a dream. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and fresh. Nothing quite like starting your day with a freshly brewed cup of coffee while toucans flutter through the trees. Special thanks to Jogebeth, whose warmth and impeccable service made our stay even more special. From her attention to detail to her genuine care for our comfort, she went above and beyond. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. A great spacious apartment. It was very clean and had a kitchen well equipped. The owners Andrés and Alejandra were very friendly and helpful. Moreover, we felt very safe in this area.

I loved hanging out in our hammock listening to bird song all around. The staff are also super friendly and accommodating. It is pretty far from La Fortuna so just bear that in mind if you are booking. However we loved the location and the hotel are great about organising transport to and from the lodge. I wish we could’ve stayed longer!

All the staff I met was very friendly and helpful.
