The tour guide was so knowledgeable and talked a lot about their sustainable farming practices.

After 10 days on the road, staying in EcoLodges of varying quality, I expected more of the same but was delighted by the high standard of Ara Ambigua. They clearly prioritise keeping the jungle at bay, and the staff were well-trained and helpful. I came back late one night to find the front gates locked, and managed to sneak in by another route. The night watchman and his large dog almost gave me a heart attack as they came on me out of the dark; but were very kind once they knew I was a guest, and helped me through the dark to my room! Front desk and other staff were also very helpful and kind. Swimming pools clean, well-maintained, respecable wine list (they store their wines in a climate-controlled room). Room was clean, a good size, well air-conditioned and with a good shower.

A traditional building with lovely veranda under the trees. It is 600m (yes 600m) from the AVIS car rental office at airport but not under flight path so minimal noise. The garden is so beautiful, the rooms, restaurant and pool are simple but ample and clean. Staff helpful. Good directions for getting west/north . Already booked to return.
