Maringi Sumba is more than just a beautiful eco-resort — it’s a place where your holiday directly supports local youth through the Sumba Hospitality Foundation. The staff, many of whom are students, were warm, professional, and truly inspiring.
Our room was thoughtfully designed using sustainable materials, offering the perfect balance of comfort and simplicity. The gardens were serene, the food was fresh and locally sourced, and we loved their signature non-alcoholic Sumba Beer!
What made the stay truly special was learning how the foundation empowers the local community. It added such depth and meaning to our visit.
Highly recommended for anyone who values authentic travel experiences and wants to make a positive impact while enjoying a peaceful island retreat.

Everything! Staying a Nihi is a wonderful experience. The staff was super attentive even before we arrived at the property and after they dropped us at the airport.
Sumba is a beautiful island and the Nihi area didn’t disappoint, highly recommend strolling around the beach! Of course don’t miss the horses, it was dreamy.
Our villa was stunning, everything was spotless. We had a massage in our room and was one of the best ones we’ve ever had!
Food and drinks were also superb, great selection to choose from.
We are only sad we couldn’t stay longer!

everything in this resort are beautiful so nature and peaceful , the room was amazing, and i can see the dolphin from our balcony, its very wonderful experience, all the staff very welcome n friendly, the food are tasty, all the service are awesome .we will come back again next year

This is our second time visiting, and our Sumba family and us are always made so welcome
The rooms were big, nice and clean. The pool area was well kept and relaxing.
The staff was incredibly helpful and helped us with renting a scooter, and arranging transport to the harbour, plus giving us suggestions on what to see.
