I can't say enough great things about this homestay! They arranged our transfer from Ella and arranged a morning and afternoon safari for us. We were greeted with a delicious cold coconut water, in the coconut. We chose the breakfast and dinner option which makes so much sense because the town is a bit of a walk and after a safari all day (4:30 am to 6:30 pm) it is great to have dinner at the homestay. Both dinners we had were excellent, I think the best food we've had in Sri Lanka! They also pack a breakfast to go on your safari day because of leaving so early. When you wake up they have coffee and bananas for you before leaving. Our room was a great size, ac and hot water worked well. The owners are very kind, friendly and even drove us to the bus stop, stayed with us and made sure we got on the right bus. I highly recommend Tissa Rainbow for your stay while exploring Yala National Park, you won't regret it!

Beyond that, they even provided fresh aloe vera for our sunburns a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about their level of service. Offering a restaurant and free bikes, MOON LIGHT Guest House is located just 1.1 km from the Tissamaharama Bus Station and 3.2 km from the beautiful Tissa Lake. Free WiFi access is available in this self-catering accommodation. I loved to stay with Randy and his family. His place is next to a beautiful lake full of wildlife, and they have a lovely garden with many birds. The room was big and comfortable and they made an effort to make me feel right at home. Randy showed me around on his tuktuk, and took me to see some local crafting processes. He knows a lot about the culture and history of Tissamaharama and showed me many beautiful places. I really recommend staying here and getting to know the area around.

Vegetarian, dairy-free and halal options can also be requested. Our stay was nice. The room was very clean and spacious. The shower worked perfectly with cold and hot water. And the terrace views were super nice. The area was quiet and surrounded by nature. I recommend this place!

Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. I had an incredible experience at Kingfisher Beach Resort, and I cannot recommend it enough! The owner, Shehan, is an exceptional host—kind, helpful, and incredibly talented. Not only is he a great chef who prepared the most delicious lobster and fresh fish, but he’s also a skilled therapist. After an amazing safari, where I was lucky enough to see a leopard and a bear, Shehan’s relaxing massage was exactly what I needed to unwind. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with clean and well-equipped rooms that provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. There’s a stunning natural saltwater pool within walking distance, and the beach feels like your own private paradise. Shehan’s knowledge of the wildlife is impressive, making the safari even more special. His passion for the animals and the surrounding nature is truly inspiring. I only stayed for one night, but I wish I had booked at least three! It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy fresh seafood paired with excellent white wine and cold beer, and immerse yourself in nature. Thank you, Shehan, for your hospitality and hard work. Located in the deep south of Sri Lanka, Chena Huts is just 5-minute away from Yala National Park. Featuring free WiFi, a spa centre and an outdoor pool, Chena Huts offers fine views of the wilderness and seascape. It is designed to echo the local architecture harmonizing with the jungle environment. The Uga Chena Huts was unbelievable! Everything was just perfect! From our huts, to the delicious food, to the very nice and helpful staff!

Guest rooms at the hotel are fitted with a seating area. The private bathroom is equipped with a bidet, free luxury toiletries and a hair dryer. The units have a desk. All rooms have direct views of the lake. We booked the honeymoon suite which was spacious and clean. The best part was the monkeys that love to come and visit . The staff went all out with an evening bonfire and cocktails by the lake . The pool is a great size to go for a proper swim . They have a great spa which is elevated amoungst the trees . I had a fabulous foot massage. ❤️

Vegetarian, halal and kosher options can also be requested. Janaka and Sagrita are the best, always kind and helpful. The room was clean and Sagrita cooked delicious vegetarian food. I booked a safari with Janaka and l enjoyed a lot, we saw many animals and a leopard crossed the road in front of us, Janaka was really fast to stay close to him! I really recommend to book to Shine Park not only for the night but also for safari. Thank you 🌺
