The Royal Island Resort & Spa is a 30-minute wheeled aircraft ride from Malé International Airport. A mandatory transfer is provided by the resort, and charges are to be paid upon arrival. The hotel is quite old, but it is clean, stuff is great, food is wonderful! The reef is really great, saw there a lot of sharks, turtles, rays, thousands of different fishes and even dolphins came two times right to the edge of reef in front of our villa. The sunset villa is the best location, because there is the best beach and the most interesting part of the reef. Definitely recommend. May be it is not a modern hotel, but alll the rest is great.

Our hotel was very clean, our room was big and comfortable, the view was excellent, the hotel staff was very friendly and caring, the food was very delicious, the beach was amazing.

The team at the resort were attentive and remembered what we liked and made sure our needs were not only met but exceeded.

Absolutely awesome experience, from the crew to the food, our stay was pure joy. The place is fabulous, the features and lagoon piloti villas are perfect, the attention of the crew is just enough. Special thank you to Oahab for his professionalism and for setting up a perfect room everyday, to Zaaid for his energy and experience during the tours and to Didi for being the best waiter and an absolute gentleman. We will be back as soon as we loose the weight we gained from the delicious buffet. The island is a wonderful quiet paradise, they will provide you with snorkel kits and you will see turtles, manta, sharks and a million other colourful fishes. Don’t hesitate and book already!

Hotel staff are very very welcoming and helping with everything needed. Massage is good. Chief in restaurants cooking great when you ask him individual preferences.

Warming and helpful staff. The room was clean and renovated.we chose an indoor one, and others have patio or balcony. The restaurant was perfect, the owner fully understood our problem coming late. Our butler Adu and the rest of the hotel staff were so welcoming, they did such a great job of making our stay extra special. Our villa was super comfortable and we had the most incredible sunset view from the terrace. We chose this resort in great part due to the dining options available, and the restaurants did not disappoint! We particularly loved Vakku and Onu. We enjoyed a very relaxing couples massage at the spa, but the really highlight were all of the activities, especially turtle snorkeling and snorkeling around the house reef.
