Octant Douro is set in the southern margin of the Douro River, km 41 of the N222 road. It is 10 km from the centre of Castelo de Paiva, 40 km from Porto, 60 km from Porto International Airport and 160 km from the Spanish border. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were amicable and professional. We took the boat tour on the Douro, which was relaxing and scenic. We would definitely go back again to the Octant Douro.

Our stay was above and beyond! The property is stunning in person- the rooms are very large, bathrooms are large and modern (rainfall shower), the pool is the standout feature of the property with incredible views. The staff was also so helpful, offering ideas and recommendations for every part of our stay. The breakfast was also very good (eggs, pastries, fruit, cakes, etc.). The wine here is also incredible- they gifted us a free glass on arrival and even comped a whole bottle, which was just the cherry on top!

The beds were super comfortable. There is everything in the kitchen you need to create a lovely meal. This was very welcome after weeks of travelling I enjoyed being able to prepare delicious food for my family.

You hear the birds, you see birds flying, you hear the river. The swimming pool is amazing. The water was a perfect temperature to refresh without being too cold. This is a perfect getaway from city life. The hosts are so welcoming and eager to help. They encourage guests to ask for what they need and they are extremely accommodating. For instance, we had the privilege to choose our room and during breakfast they asked us if we wanted eggs made in any way we liked.

Lavandeira Douro Nature & Wellness also provides an indoor pool and a sauna for guests to relax in. The area is popular for hiking, and bike hire is available at the accommodation. An indoor play area is also available at Lavandeira Douro Nature & Wellness, while guests can also relax in the garden. Excellent place, highly recommended. Very friendly stuff, helped us finding hidden gems around duoro valley.
