We stayed at Hotel Cavaliere in Scario, in the province of Salerno, located in the beautiful Gulf of Policastro, right in the heart of the Cilento National Park. A truly enchanting location, surrounded by nature and just a short walk from the sea. The hotel offers a private beach only 150 meters away, easily reachable on foot. The rooms are comfortable, harmonious, and impeccably clean, with great attention to detail. The buffet breakfast is well-prepared and generous — you’re spoiled for choice. We had both lunch and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, where we enjoyed local dishes, featuring fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables, all deliciously prepared. On Wednesday evening, we had a very special experience: while dining, we enjoyed live traditional Cilento music, performed with handcrafted local instruments. It was a beautiful and authentic moment! Just a short walk from the hotel, the tourist marina offers several private operators who organize both individual and group boat excursions, perfect for exploring the coastline and discovering the natural wonders of Cilento from the sea. Close to 2 UNESCO sites. The new swimming pool! Walking 5 minutes to the sandy beach (not rocky beach) The very attentive service by all staff members! The room was nice and cool; nice bathroom and bed. Pretty yard! We liked eating at night outside under the pergola, food very tasty. In the morning we enjoyed the cappuccino and cornetto under the pergola. Being able to call the shuttle to come get us from the train station. If you have small children, there is a jumpy place for them across the street and if you like "padel/pickel ball there is a court across street, also. The owners, Andrea and Teresa were making sure all guest were taken care of!

Hotel Venere is located in Ascea Marina centre, in the Cilento National Park. It offers free WiFi, a large garden and panoramic terrace.

Bathroom, air con etc were ok. Staff at breakfast very welcoming but reception just ok. Nice promenade but seems to be the end of season already and we really struggled to find a place to eat, but found a good locals' haunt at the very far end of the town finally, it was Sunday too I suppose.
