The location close to the river was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a small convenient store closed to the hotel. There is a coin laundry and dryer.

Irish writer Lafcadio Hearn （Japanese name Yakumo Koizumi）used to staying here for several years. The hotel staffs are all kind and nice. The breakfast seems healthy and tastes good. Fantastic location. Right outside Matsue station. Bed was decent size and quite comfy. An alarm's integrated into the headrest. Comes with a mini fridge. Curtains were thick enough to block out the train station lights.

The location was perfect — 2 blocks from Matsue Station, a 15 minute walk from Matsue Castle and the Art Museum, and with a convenience store around the corner. The staff were very accomodating (me, a non-Japanese speaker). The in-house coin laundry was handy (cost me only ¥300 to wash and dry). The shared bath made me want to spend more time in the hotel than out! The double room was plenty spacious for me as a solo traveller. I have no complaints and enjoyed my stay.
