With the majestic mountains of Cader Idris reflected in its waters, Tal-y-Llyn Lake is more than a scenic asset; the hotel owns the lake, which is noted for its superb fishing. Tynycornel was a well-known fishing hostelry as early as 1800 and guests enjoy priority access to Tal-y-Llyn's prized waters, together with fine river fishing. The location of the hotel was amazing, so picturesque. There are hiking trails close by or if you wish to be more laid back you can chill by the lake or in the community area of the hotel. I wish we stayed longer.

The accommodation features room service, a tour desk and luggage storage for guests. The hotel is full of interesting furniture of traditional victorian and the orient. (some of which I would dearly love to own myself). The towels and bed linen are all embroidered with the hotel logo and the bathrobes are just fabulous. The views from the rear of the hotel across the hills over the valley are absolutely lovely. The evening meal was just exceptional, home cooked Chinese food the like I’ve never had before. Not one dish (and between four of us we tried quite a few) that we didn’t like but I must say I’ve never eaten potatoes that surprised and delighted me as much as here. We booked because it was dog friendly. We will book again because it was a great experience.

The property is non-smoking and is set 200 metres from Dolau Beach. Great location and enjoyed the balcony. Arrives by bus and was a short walk downhill from the stop.

Glanllifon is an exceptional B&B. It is located directly on the coast, just a few steps from the sea. The hosts are, typically Welsh, extremely friendly and welcoming. My room was utterly lovely, impeccably clean and the bed absolutely comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to perfection, served with a smile and a nice little chat. Highly recommended! 11 out of 10 stars!
