We loved our stay here. We had our own car, which made the location perfect. The town was a 2 minute drive from the property. It was a peaceful and serene location.

Only in Japan could you find such a lovely hotel on a freeway. Similar to other Fairfield Hotels I’ve stayed in the US in terms of rooms/layout but this one was much more loved. Pristine condition, spotlessly clean, lovely common areas (with microwave, oven, coffee etc - great for families). The staff were beyond helpful and attentive. I stayed there to travel to Mashiko which was a disappointment but this hotel was a lovely bonus.

Price wise it is also surperb. You can enjoy the great lounge with free coffee and miso soup! I can easy live in this hotel for 1-2 weeks

Nikko Station and Tobu-Nikko Station are within a 5-minute walk from the property. Everything.. The location was great, but what really made it exceptional was Yoshi and his beautiful wife. He went past what is expected in every way. It's an excellent place, I really can't recommend it highly enough..... He offered to collect us from dinner as it was raining (twice), he gave us(free) professional portrait pictures (which he took in his own photo studio) he provides QR codes with directions to all local attractions and hiking trails, he warned us about leeches at the abyss trail and next day provided us with a spray to remove them and a bear bell (both items were thankfully returned to him unused) and gave us a lift to the station when leaving and carried our bags for us....... we were there 2 days. If there was a Nobel prize for hotels, he would win it.

Just a 15-minute walk from the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Nikko Hoshino Yado features natural hot-spring baths with Japanese garden views, traditional kaiseki (multi-course) cuisine and Japanese-style rooms with tatami floors. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. the dinner was fantastic - a kaisen set was a delicious 7-course meal and it exceeded my expectations for dinner, and breakfast was overall fabulous as well. the indoor and outdoor onsen were great - not too many people using them so it was nice to have the onsen to ourselves. the tatami room was as expected - the complimentary tea and amenities were greatly appreciated. the location was amazing and very close to the sightseeing destinations. the staff was very helpful.

The hotel has family rooms. Grate experience in Nikko if you are looking for a bit of a remote area. Beautiful and quiet environment. The Onsen in the hotel is amazing, especially the private one! The food was exceptional, such an experience really recommended to book the dinner plan. Very not touristic in the best way, hart to find in Japan.
