Easy to reach by bus from the airport and central to public transportation. The facilities were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was well done. Most of all, the staff was Great! Everyone with whom we interacted was well-informed and more than willing to help us in any way, from finding our way around the city to arranging for a very early breakfast and taxi to the airport. We asked about the laundry facilities in the hotel and they no only showed us where and how but even offered to do it for us.

This hostel is actually a student residence, which rooms are rented out to tourists in the summer. I had a large double room with plenty of space, which was nice. The bathroom was also larger than expected, but the shower was quite tight for some reason. Free parking was a nice perk. The hostel is in a quiet area. I noticed that it's wheelchair-friendly: ramp outside, elevator, and staircase lift for an intermediate floor. Downtown Mandal isn't very big so it's easy to walk anywhere, and they have maps (and good advice) at the front desk.

Try the Fish Soup at the Restaurant and breakfast buffet gave a good start to the day.
