Ideally located in the highest village in Portugal, El Rei Dom Manuel Hotel is housed in a historic building, its rooms offer breathtaking and stunning views over the landscapes of Portugal and Spain.

Couples particularly like this location. Breakfast was very good: hot meal, coffee, juices and fresh bread. I’m not a big eater though, so can’t vouch for those fans of continental style. Location couldn’t be better, complete immersive experience in the medieval times. Room was spacious and quiet, with cabinets full of warm blankets and pillows. Bathroom is clean, all essentials were there. Sr. Manuel is courteous and accommodating. We felt welcomed in the hotel.

Located in the historic town of Vila Vicosa and 300 metres from Paco Ducal, Hotel Solar Dos Mascarenhas includes a 16th-century building, stables and mature gardens. It offers free Wi-Fi and has an outdoor pool with a sun terrace. Great location! Close to the village centre, historic sites and numerous restaurants. The rooms are spacious and the hotel has a number of lounges. Afternoon tea is provided in one of the lounges and includes cookies and cake!. The breakfast is excellent, with great variety - even catering to gluten free! All staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Located in Brejao, within 22 km of Aljezur Castle and 26 km of Sardao Cape, Choeiro Verde - Casa de Campo na Costa Vicentina provides accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Featuring pool with a view, the 3-star bed and breakfast has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Featuring a private entrance, the bed and breakfast allows guests to maintain their privacy. A true gem. Quiet, comfortable and impeccably clean. Hosts were wonderful as was the delicious, bountiful breakfast. The lovely pool, with its spectacular views, was a real treat to swim in. Staying here was the highlight of our trip to Portugal.

Located in Vila Nova de Milfontes, Penthouse with rooftop pool - Duna Parque Resorts & Hotels features access to an outdoor swimming pool, indoor pool, spa and wellness centre and a paddle tennis court. The accommodation is 500 metres from the beach facing the Mira River. It was a lovely and roomy apartment. Only the bathrooms were a little cramped. But there were two of them! Lots of facilities to enjoy in the apartment and on the wider grounds. The view from the roof terrace was spectacular.

The property is set 1.1 km from Evora University, less than 1 km from Inquisition Palace and a 10-minute walk from Evora Museum. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. 2 minute walk to the old walled city.

Surrounded by gardens, fruit trees and vineyards, this hotel is located only 2 km from the city walls of Évora. It offers a salt water swimming pool and features solar panels, which provide most of the property's electricity. Loved this hotel and the staff. Quiet well appointed clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Everything was excellent. This hotel is so incredibly clean and the owners make you feel at home. I loved staying here

The rooms at the Sever Rio Hotel have views of either the Sever River or the mountains, and are all decorated with modern furnishings. Each has a flat-screen TV and an en suite with a spacious shower. Some come with a balcony. The hotel is located at the foot of Marvão. The castle is beautifully illuminated at night, which you can see if you have a room with a view of the castle. There is an outdoor pool available for hotel guests and a natural pool made on the river, which is very close. Very thoughtful infrastructure. The hotel restaurant is fantastic!

Situated in the historic centre of Mértola, Museu offers picturesque views of the Guadiana River and free WiFi. Next to the reception of the property is a museum showing archaeological excavation work. Delicious breakfasts, fantastic location, free parking space, tidy and well organised rooms, museum and additional attractions. Very helpful staff.

Just 5 km from the fortified town of Elvas, the recently refurbished Varchotel features typical Alentejo architecture. It offers bright rooms with modern décor and satellite flat-screen TVs.

All rooms feature stylish decoration and table-lamps. The private bathroom features contrasting black and white colours. A work desk and satellite flat-screen TV are included. The hotel is clean and beautiful. There is a large parking lot, a lovely pool and delicious breakfasts. Very nice staff. It was difficult to find a place to stay in Elvas for my dates, but I was lucky to catch this option at a reasonable price. We will definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.
