great ambiance and modern ecclectic design. everything in this hotel is so clean, so calm and so comfortable. the rooms we got are very spacious, beds are comfortable with crisp white sheets that smell great. the bathroom towels and robes are fluffy and thick which I love. we had a wonderful stay in the hotel. staff are all so welcoming and friendly. the breakfast is wonderful, everything in the selection are fresh and great tasting with plenty of assortments. they also have a hangover bar with bloody mary and cava in the breakfast spread.

What Guests Said About Amsterdam:

- Generally a very beautiful city, very compact and visually...

- Generally a very beautiful city, very compact and visually uniform (apart from churches, etc.), as the same architectural style is used throughout the center - Museums worth seeing (MOCO - Museum of modern art; and, of course, those featuring classic Dutch painters) - Unfortunately quite dirty in the center (including traces of excessive drinking) - If you want Christmas markets, you should go to another city - There are shopping opportunities in the center, but compared to other large cities, in my opinion, there are hardly any department stores with a “unique selling point” (as in London, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, etc.), but mainly the usual run-of-the-mill shops, lots of souvenir shops, and, of course, coffee shops.

It was mostly cloudy and rainy.

It was mostly cloudy and rainy. We had Amsterdam Travel card thus used it so often when it was raining and also to gain time. The canals were cute but for 4 days of stay without seeing sun and even bright light weather during day was a bit gloomy. Maybe we should see once more in summer. The streets were stinking cbd cigarettes. As a non smoker it was really bad. Also in December we expected to see more Christmas markets but only saw one in Museumplein. Maybe it was early December because of that.

Great coffee, fantastic buildings.

Great coffee, fantastic buildings. Moving around Amsterdam is the easiest thing, you can get a tram and go anywhere you wish. Google Maps is your friend, and it's hardly inaccurate. Few places to eat good, value-for-money food however. You'd have to search for local markets to find better options in that regard - otherwise it's quite expensive, unless you can eat potatoes and waffles all day, which are to be found in every other corner. Visiting the Van Gogh museum is a must. And Tony's Chocolonely factory, which has a vast amount of different chocolate flavors.

I divided my four days in Amsterdam into specific interests: WWII (The Museum of Resistance and Ann Frank House); cats (the cat houseboat and the cat art museum); art (the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum); and winter activities (a lights festival canal cruise and the Haarlem Christmas market). I could have spent several more days there, exploring neighborhoods, restaurants and cultural events. If I were to do it again, I would skip the large art museums (which are not that impressive if you've been to museums in other world capitals) and look at the smaller, more modern ones instead.
