The house is gorgeous, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The owner's attention to detail and warm hospitality made our stay truly memorable. We're especially grateful for the generous sharing of their farm produce - the vegetables, rice, soy sauce, and BBQ sauces were all incredibly fresh and delicious. When we arrived at the gare station a man (the son of the family) welcomed us warmly. He kindly drove us to a supermarket to buy some useful items (food, etc) for our staying and he would already send to our airbnb. Then he dropped us at the beginning of Magome path to be able to enjoy the walk to the house. When we arrived to the house, the mother and son showed us the house with all the explanations of use. They gently asked us which kind of restaurant we would have liked to go dinner. We were surprised the price of our stay included all the car transport. The family host was alaways available if we had an emergency. We were never in no need, food and drinks were full in the kitchen. We enjoyed the house to the fullest: comfortable beds, nice bathroom, the landscape was peaceful. All the rooms of this house were well presented with all the accomodations. The living room with the tatami mats was incredible with many toys, books. The decoration is authentic. There is a smoking area aoutside with an ashtray. Until the last day the father of the family drove us back to the gare station. We have so much great memories of this place along the Nakasendo road.

Oh, this place is both charming with its atmosphere of old-time Japan, as well as greatly located if you are for visiting nearby located old post towns of Tsumago or Magome. Spacious rooms with comfy futons, endless spaces with bedrooms, living room, bathrooms and - which was a fantastic discovery - a Japanese style all wooden bathroom with a bathtub. This was such a relaxing experience after we travelled from the north. 7-eleven is at walking distance, the host is extremely helpful, free parking space just 50m from this beautiful wooden, old, atmospheric, all Japanese style house. We loved everything about it - it had even the hearth in the middle of the living room, like the ones you'd see in the samurai movies. We felt as if we travelled back in time for 200 years! We simply loved it!

They style and quality of the accommodation, plus the location in Nagiso, giving easy access to the shops, restaurants and train station. Also very much liked the audio system, tv projector and access to Netflix and Amazon. Some very nice touches.

The house is beautifully designed and peaceful & tranquil. The bed is really comfortable and the location was great for exploring the area by car or if walking the nakasendo. It is better in person than in the photos, it’s restored in a contemporary way with all of the amenities & a nice mix of traditional Japanese style. Tommy the host was amazing, he made us feel really welcome and was very helpful. Would definitely recommend the sushi dinner which he prepared for us.

Despite arriving later than planned, we encountered no issues with check-in. The property boasts a prime location right beside the Nakasendo trail, offering stunning mountain views from the rear. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable.
