Astral Zone Cottage is the perfect place to stay when spending a few days in Ella. Located outside of the main town and close enough that everything you want to do whilst in Ella is accessible. The property is located 10 minutes from the train tracks where you can then pick up trails to Ella’s Rock in one direction and Ella town and nine arch bridge in the other. The host, Maduranga, is super helpful, organising really reasonable tasty dinners and tuk tuks. He is really friendly but also respectful of privacy. Would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. The view is also great.

Best bed in Sri Lanka! Location is great, 10 minute walk from hotspots in town, we liked that since the music in town is extremely loud. The balcony had an amazing view and every morning breakfast was served at our own balcony. Host is the best! Very friendly, helpful and caring.

The customer service was excellent in the Tea Cabins. If we required anything at all (food, taxi etc) all we had to do was text and it was organised for us very promptly! Our room was ready earlier than check in which was great for us. The cabin so very clean and well looked after. We absolutely loved our stay here. Staff gave great suggestions on places to eat and things to do. The location is a little bit out of Ella but a free tuk tuk was provided anytime we wanted to go. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. everyone was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The accommodation itself was top-notch—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail, from the bedding to the amenities, reflected a commitment to quality and comfort. We stayed one night at The Palace Eco Cottage in Ella and absolutely loved it. The cottage sits high up in the hills, and the view over the valley and surrounding landscape is simply stunning—one of those places where you just stop and take it all in. The room was very spacious, spotless, and felt incredibly peaceful. We would recommend it for the setting alone, but what truly makes this place special is the owner. She is such a dedicated, warm, and genuinely friendly person, and you can feel her attention to detail in everything—from the rooms to the food. We had an incredible breakfast with eggs, fresh vegetables, fruits, and delicious sweet treats. Honestly, it was one of the best breakfasts we had during our entire trip in Sri Lanka. She also offered us lunch and dinner—completely free of charge—which was unbelievably kind. We had already made plans in town, so we didn’t get to try it, but if breakfast was any indication, it must be amazing as well. A real highlight was the family’s generosity in offering to drive us to Ella town in their tuk tuk whenever we needed, again free of charge. It made everything so easy and added such a personal touch to the stay. All in all, we can’t recommend The Palace Eco Cottage enough. A beautiful place with incredible hospitality—if you’re coming to Ella, this is truly a wonderful spot to stay.

Beatiful and peaceful place in the nature. You can hear many kinds of birds and see monkeys.. Sithu and Kalpana are 2 sisters, they are so kind and helpful. They organised tuk tuk for us(good price). Communication via WhatsApp was great. We had very tasty breakfast and dinner there. The room was clean and comfy. Ella town is nearby(you can go for a walk or use tuk tuk). It's really nice place and nice family. Thank you for everything and we hope to see you again.

Amazing place, thanks to Lal property manager for all the help and for the exceptional service highly recommended, its close to Ella but away from too many tourists. There is a tv with English movies, washing machine and cooking facilities we had a great time and would stay again, thanks Lal!
