Everything about "Maison proche du vieux Lille et de la citadelle" was a perfect 10, including the kind and attentive owner, Emmanuel. We stayed there during the Olympics for ten nights and we were sad to leave at the end. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived. The King- and Queen-sized beds were firm and very comfortable. There were exterior "black-out" roller shades in each bedroom (and the living and dining rooms), so sleeping in total darkness was very pleasant. The deck was a lovely extension of the indoor space, with comfortable furniture and an umbrella and BBQ. The living room was a little cramped, but we brought chairs in from the adjacent dining room for extra seating. The kitchen was very modern, well-stocked and spacious. The "welcome package" Emmanuel left in the kitchen with snacks and beverages was very thoughtful, and the "Nespresso-style" coffee maker was wonderful for morning coffee. Having a washing machine was helpful since we were there for so long. The modern bathroom off the bedrooms upstairs had a fantastic "rain" showerhead, plus multiple "flavors" of shampoos and body washes. There was a handy 2nd toilet on the main floor in the laundry room, just off the kitchen. A small grocery store was only 2 blocks away, which was really handy. The walk into the city center was about 30-40 minutes, of which half was along the beautiful Citadelle park. The neighborhood felt very safe, clean and quiet, with lots of birds singing in the abundant green spaces. Having a dedicated parking spot was nice. We rented the Lime Bikes from just down the street, but they were very expensive compared to the V'Lille bikes a little farther away.

Easily commutable into Lille central using Uber or via car. Access is all done via a code and check in very convenient! The host was very accommodating and responded via whats app to every query we had.
