The location has a beautiful view. It is close to downtown but also close to walking trails. When contacting the owner with questions they were quick to answer. We had access to a washer and dryer as well as a full kitchen. We did not use the hot tub due to our schedule and some weather, but it was also available. Check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. This home was our base, and it was easy to travel to all the destinations we desired to visit without needing to repack and move to another location each night.

Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, so dass wir uns problemlos selbstversorgen konnten. In der nächsten Ortschaft gibt es mehere Supermärkte - das macht das Einkaufen für isländische Verhältnisse sehr entspannt. Das Haus liegt recht naturnah und ruhig. In knapp 30 Minuten ist man trotzdem mit dem Auto in der Innenstand von Reykjavik. Das ist super für Tagesausflüge und abneds ist man wieder in der ruhigen Gegend. Alternativ kann man direkt von der Haustüre auf dieverse Wanderungen durch schöne Natur machen. Genial. Neben dem Haus gibt es einen kleinen Hühnerstall mit 5-6 Hühnern. Aufgepasst: offenbar können die Hühner den Stall verlassen und sind recht neugierig.

Decoration is beautiful, the kitchen is great and the house is very confortable. It is not that far from Reykiavik but it is in an isolated and relaxed area.

The quiet location on the lakefront was so peaceful, but still close to Reykjavík, shopping/food options, and activities! We loved having a coffee at the kitchen table and watching the birds and water right outside each morning. The cabin was well equipped for a comfortable stay including kitchen supplies. We also enjoyed the barrel sauna with the equally magnificent view!

Our family spent 6 nights at this great house. We loved the location - right in the edge of downtown (a 3 minute walk at most) - which allows you to easily access the restaurants, bars and shops and still be in a quiet spot at night. The house had plenty of room for our family of 7 to spread out. We were appreciative of the special touches the owners took to make sure we were comfortable, such as leaving a bowl of fresh fruit on the table for us and having some provisions on hand for our arrival like coffee pods for the coffee machine on site, olive oil, spices and sugar. It was a perfect home base for our stay in Iceland!
