We liked the quiet atmosphere, the quality of the things and of the furniture, the most welcoming note we have ever received on our travels. We stayed here for four nights and loved every minute of it: the fireplace made quite a cozy evening on our New Year’s Eve and the ducks that visited us became friendly faces during mornings. Roto Cottage exceeded our expectations. Hosts were so lovely and welcoming, location was brilliant with a short walk to Lake Tekapo village area and lake itself. The cottage was brand new and has been built with quality and comfort in mind. Very well equipped, comfortable and warm beds. Loved the awesome view of the lake and surrounding snow capped mountains from the warm comfort of the cottage! Also space outside for the kids to have a play on the grass. Highly recommend this as a perfect spot to stay when visiting Lake Tekapo and surrounding areas.
