The price-quality relationship is unbeatable: I've visited several hotels in the U.S., and undoubtedly, this has probably been the most memorable. We visited Ogdensburg just because we saw this interesting accommodation, and at every point, we were surprised. We thought that visiting and staying in a hotel that was previously a school was a great idea, but we found that there was much more that made this place special. As soon as we entered, we noticed the adorable Christmas decorations that were in every space of the school. Jim greeted us with a big smile and asked if we wanted him to give us a guided tour of the place or just show us the room. I couldn't resist the history, and Jim enthusiastically showed us around, adding historical facts about the school and Ogdensburg. It was truly interesting, and I don't think there are more suitable people to bring this hotel to life than them. What better than to sleep in a hotel that was a school with people so passionate about the history and the place it's located? I couldn't ask for more. The room was enormous (I think that's the first thing you can mention when you enter), and I'm not exaggerating. For this price, here you get two or three times the room size offered in other places. After all, your room is the size of a classroom! The walls are incredibly thick, so it's very unlikely that you'll hear any noise. The decoration in each room is different, and you can see and feel the dedication put into each one—all of them are adorable. The room had a lovely Christmas tree; each room had one, each with different decorations. This detail added an even warmer touch, and I regret not spending Christmas here. On the second floor, they have a well-equipped kitchen available for Sherman Inn visitors. And of course, we used it! It made our stay comfortable as if we were at home. Breakfast was delicious.

We were overjoyed when we opened the door for our stay. Everything was tastefully decorated and well thought out for a traveler. We traveled 7 hrs to go to a very special concert in Heuveton and this was the cherry on top. We had the best time. THANK YOU

Ubicata a Johnstown, nel sito in cui si insediarono in origine i coloni fondatori della città nel 1789, questa locanda si trova a meno di 1 km dal ponte che collega il Canada agli Stati Uniti, e offre... The room was perfect for what we needed, very nice and clean. The owner was kind and warm to us, would definitely come back if I need to be in the area. The restaurant close to the motel had a nice view on the water.

It was comfortable and clean, nicely decorated and well taken care of. Loved the refrigerator with separate large freezer, the microwave and the coffee maker. We would stay again.

Immerso in 20.000 m2 di terreni ben curati, il Johnstown Motel offre attrezzature per barbecue e una piscina all'aperto. La sistemazione vanta la connessione Wi-Fi gratuita e viste su St. Abbiamo prenotato questo motel un po' per il prezzo basso, visto che era solo una notte, e anche perché di strada verso Montreal. Dalle immagini già spaventava un po' ma vabbè, corriamo il rischio. Arriviamo lì intorno alle 21:30 del 12 agosto con le tenebre totali, la zona era illuminata solo dalla luna, situazione abbastanza macabra ma ormai ci siamo, affrontiamo la cosa. Al check in si presenta un simpatico e sorridente signorotto scalzo e in accappatoio, il quale oltre a farci l'accettazione ci mostra fiero le foto con improbabili gruppi musicali che negli anni hanno pernottato nel suo motel. Andiamo in stanza piazzando l'auto con arroganza davanti alla porta, come nei migliori motel, ed evviva gli anni 80 tutto è rimasto come allora, tuttavia la situazione è molto più gradevole del previsto. La pulizia è al massimo consentito, 2 bei lettoni, bagno minimal ma tutto funzionante, doccia, lavandino, wifi fiacco ma sufficiente. Non ci lamentiamo troppo e ci spariamo finalmente un bel sonno. Al mattino la sorpresa, ciò che le tenebre celavano col loro manto scuro, il sole finalmente svelava, di fronte alla porta della stanza si apriva un bel panorama sul fiume, un prato enorme molto curato e un circondario da cittadina ordinata e apatica di grande conforto. Gran bella sorpresa, ha superato di gran lunga le aspettative e merita una ben più che ampia sufficienza.
