The lock system was what drew me to Thorold but I enjoyed the town itself as well. I had dinner at places near the historic town center: Donnelly’s pub, where I had a great lamb stew, and breakfast at Hana’s which was friendly with good food. I found some nice shops in that area as well and some lovely homes and parks.

Two bedrooms had an ensuite bathroom, the other bedrooms had a separate shared bath. The area, fairly new townhomes, seem comprised of college age students. There are stores and restaurants in nearby Thorold and about a 30 min drive to NOTL.. We stayed the weekend to attend the ice wine festival and visit nearby wineries. Overall, we had a great stay and would come back again.

We enjoyed sitting on the balcony. There was a parking on site which was an advantage, the area was nice and quiet as the hotel is in a residential area. The Hotel was very clean and hygienic. The photo of the Hotel and rooms do not do justice as it was a very well maintained property and we would love to stay there again.

A great balcony view of the lock. The inn is located in a historic part of Thorold so the area is lovely small town Ontario. We spent little time in our room because we were busy with all the area attractions.

Location is fantastic if you love ships passing by while you sit back on the balcony to your room. It is close to NOTL, Niagara Falls and St Catharines. Downtown Thorold is picturesque. I loved the fact that the parking was for free and easy to find a spot even when we arrived at night. The rooms are very spacious, clean and it looks like they recently renovated as everything is modern and new.
