The room size was good and very quiet. The shower which for a change did not leak all over the bathroom floor. Underground car parking was very good with plenty of space around the car and secure.

Figueres is a slightly shabby town though perfectly friendly and people mostly come here for the Dali museum. Were stayed for a couple of days rest at the end of our long GR11 hike - its much cheaper than Barcelona! tbh though there isn't a lot to do here.

Very nice little town!!
Very nice little town!! People are nice , the restaurants are affordable, they had a really nice food market on Thursday morning! It was perfect!
Its a little town though so 3-4 days is long enough ;)
Be sure to visit the Dali Museum, it’s just unfortunate that the paintings are not better explained. An audio guide would have been appreciated.
The best churros were right around the corner from Duran Hotel!!!

I didn't come for the Dali Museum and didn't go to it.
I didn't come for the Dali Museum and didn't go to it. But Figueres is a pleasant and friendly town and I enjoyed exploring it. It is also a good base for visiting and walking in the surrounding countryside. I had a couple of excellent longish walks in the Serra de Rodes (on two of the megalithic trails) and there is clearly much more to explore.

Trip to the Salvadore Dali museum was excellent,
Food in some cafes inexpensive even in the main Ramblas area.
Visited the St Ferran castillo (N11A north of Figueres). English tours ob specific days of the week. In my opinion not suitable if walking is restricted. There is a 20 min overview in several languages inside. 5€ for standard enttrance. Guided tour 16 euros.

It’s better to go when it’s less crowded, around 12 it’s full of people so better to go earlier in the morning. It takes about 3 hours to observe everything.
If you plan on having a english speaking guide plan way ahead.

I was just passing through to the Pyrenees and it is a good destination to get to from Barcelona by train if you are planning to cycle the Pyranees as I did. The real only attraction in the town is Dali's museum which I never visited. The train from Barcelona is fast and stops only 3 times before reaching Figueres. It does seem as if it is used by a large number of comuters that live in Girona and travel the hour into the city every day so best times to travel areout of peak hours.
The hotel is very well run, with everything immaculately clean and tidy. The room is nicely renovated with high quality bed, pillows, linens and good lighting. The bathroom is spacious and everything was in perfect working order. The breakfast was very very good value, 6€ for a buffet with many options, both cold and hot food, fresh fruit and vegetables. The hotel also has parking attached which is very convenient and less expensive than alternatives in the area. The hotel far exceeded my expectations and I recommend to any travellers.
Access to the museum cannot be beat, as well as the central part of Figueres. The patio in 1A was beautiful and pleasant for breakfast in the morning. The hosts were prompt to reply to WhatsApp messages and accessing the keys & apartment were easy. The kitchen facilities were sufficient for our 1-night stay, though the plates & glasses were not very clean, so we had to wash them before use. The view was great, but came at great cost.
The hotel I have already visited more than 10 times is always comfortable, clean and the rooms are great. Staff is always friendly and private parking is an extra PLUS. Maybe a bit noisy at the busy street but that is also good if you want to be on the road for visiting other places like Villafant, Rosas, Cadaques. Only 10 minutes easy walk into city cantre.
The hotel was great with a nice lounge area. Dining was open and well laid out. With plenty of outdoor seating areas. The room was smart and the bathroom marble everywhere with a powerful and hot shower. And the extra is free secure gated parking, ideal for anybody with a car full of holiday stuff with roof racks and bikes.
Super nice hotel, not far from the motorway. The pool is huge and deep! The room was clean and quiet. The hotel has a good restaurant attached which we found very comfortable (no more driving needed after a long day on the road).
The staff was excellent, very helpful and kind! Will definitely stay there again.
This is a rather nice and classy place, especially for the money. Kind of strange to find such a hotel in this location, which is on the outskirts of a small, sleepy town. They have decent parking, including space for some larger vehicles (I had a high-roof van, for example).
La Barretina is run by a couple who have hospitality in their bones. What it lacks in size of rooms or luxury is made up by their willingness to connect and provide assistance. They also have a range of the best herbal teas available. Unusual for Spain.
Great staff, very service oriented and kind. I stayed with pet and they made everything easy on me. The hotel decor is a bit dated by nice, rooms very spacious and clean. Loved the jacuzzi corner bath tub. Centrally located. Would stay here again.
We've used this Hotel a couple times already while heading south or north. It's not far from the Highway, the rooms are lovely and clean, the stuff is exeptional, it has a secure Parking for no additional cost and a very decent restaurant.
Room was excellent. Extremely large and comfortable bed! We found the car park very convenient as it was directly opposite the hotel. We didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that. The staff were extremely helpful and polite.
Location was pretty good, 2 blocks from Dali museum. Breakfast was ok, but not exceptional. The room was fine but the air conditioner didn't work. The hotel is full of history and its nice environment takes us to a nice journey.
It s location is very central but the room was on a quiet street. Nice rooms, nice decoration, clean bathroom…Parking is a bit costly but up the street from the hotel
Davinia the manager is so nice and helpful: a darling!
Excellent location: 10 min walk to the train/bus station, 8 min to Dali Museum, overlooking La Rambla. Nice narrow balcony. Very clean and well-cared for apartment. High ceilings. Comfortable beds.
Very nice hostel with beautiful terrace in the middle of Figueres center. Lovely staff. It was relatively empty when I was there with a chill atmosphere. Everything was great!
The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was good value at 6 euros. Hotel is situated in centre of figueres just a few minutes from dali museum.
