FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

Whether you want Aberdeen hotels with a pool, or rural accommodation surrounded by hills, don’t miss the deals on Booking.com!

Lots to see and do. Visited Duthie Park - beautiful. It helped that the weather was particularly good. We were there to attend a concert by the local Bon Accord and District Pipe Band. Vg it was too. Their guests were St Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band , The Junior Bon Accord and Distict Pipe Band also played. Very encouraging to see some very young people performing. We ate in hotel the first night and the second night we went to the Ferryhill House Hotel - also first class. Very easy to make your way around Aberdeen.

Aberdeen is a great place to visit, we had a theatre & a concert visit included in our trip and both venues were really good apart from the P&J charging a fortune for food & drink. If you're travelling by car beware of the bus lane restrictions which are not well advertised and will result in a hefty fine if you transgress. The sea food in the restaurants, The Atrium & Bistro Verde, was first class and possibly the best I have ever had. Union Street was a great place to wander around, The Union Cafe was very, very good for a pit stop for coffee/tea & cake and the variety of shops was great.

It's sad that, despite the wealth that poured into the city in the 70s/80s it looks tired and city planning clearly has been lacking. Architecture is poor compared to other Scottish cities, shopping likewise. The beach toilets were locked up - only toilets we could find were at Footdee. Such a shame this city, that has had the impact of the energy industry doesn't feel like it has done anything positive as a consequence.

Wonderful pub hotel set in a great area of Aberdeen's city centre - yet we were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful it was. The pub and hotel staff were extremely friendly upon arrival and we managed to enjoy a tasty meal at the pub after checking in. The room was very cosy and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The decor was tasteful and in keeping with the pub's style and most importantly the bed was really comfortable. Had a great stay - would return if we ever stay in Aberdeen again.

2 min walk to city centre. Out the door, turn right and you are there. Very stylish hotel, the most comfortable bed with 3 pillows and Egyptian cotton sheets. Power shower in large cubicle. Stylish but designed for use. The best staff and so friendly. Very limited food choice in breakfast but so close to so many amazing places to eat. We will stay here again when we next visit Aberdeen.
