Breakfast and dinner was amazing, great options especially when it was the buffet! The room was lovely, great views and very clean. The spa facilities were really nice too, and I loved that wellies were provided at reception for people to be able to go out for walks in the surrounding areas.

East Calder had everything you would need for a stay and is so close to larger shopping options that we easily found everything we needed. We would have liked to have had more time to explore the town but we were warmly welcomed into the local parish church on Sunday morning, found just what I was looking for in the Scotmid and small Tesco, and had a delivery from the Chinese takeaway 'the cooking house' which was delicious and the delivery driver was so helpful also.
It was so easy to get into Edinburgh from the Ingliston park and ride and a family day ticket was £8.50 and that covered all trams and buses for the whole day. The Five sisters Zoo was excellent and the staff were so willing to share information and answer questions that we really felt like we got a great experience there. We also visited deep sea world and enjoyed it, it was a quiet day when we attended so had the place almost to ourselves.
