There was a great pub called 6 bells. The staff were lovely and Wayne the proprietor really looked after me as did all the staff. The food I had was excellent. The pub itself is unofficially the 2nd oldest pub in England. It was easy to walk to from The Corner House.

Very comfortable rooms, friendly efficient staff, good choice of restaurants in the evening with lovely food. Breakfast could improve as while everything is well laid out with plenty of choice the food is not being kept hot enough and is quite cold by the time you take it back to your table which is a shame as it’s good quality food. It was the same for both visits.

Travelers should be warned there there are steep steps to get to the room (unless you book the downstairs room). This was a huge surprise and problem for us as we had a lot of heavy baggage and it could not be left downstairs.

Horley is a fairly safe town to spend the night before/after...

Horley is a fairly safe town to spend the night before/after a flight. It has nice food shops & cafes. Near to Gatwick but not noisy. Quiet, pleasant. A bus ride to Crawley, an easy train to London. Not overpriced. Best place is the 8 Bells (or is it 6 Bells?!) down a residential road just off the main road & by the parish church - lovely! - its a delightful oldy-worldy country gastro pub on the doorstep, which is well-known for great food & atmosphere. People usually find Horley pleasant... you can safely walk around & there is a Lidl & Waitrose within walking distance (in the centre)... The local Wetherspoons does a good cheap breakfast. (Later, the fish & chips/burger are ok, so ok for cheap filling food. Be warned, though, the manager could do with some improvement!) Horley is great for overnight stays, before moving on!

This is a stupid question, I stayed at the airport, not in Horley town and I only stayed there because I had an early flight. I was not there as a tourist and I doubt anyone would be, as it is an airport town!

Easy check in and check out. Good service and friendly staff. He lugged my heavy luggage to my room and then prepared a table for me in the dining area where I could ate my take away in the evening. there was a microwave and fridges available. The lodge is barely a 10 minute walk from the Horley Railway Station. Perfect location for an early morning flight from Gatwick. The train ride from Horley to Gatwick South terminal is only 4 minutes.

Horley is definitely not a touristic place, however we found the hotel very suitable as it was close to a Covid Testing Centre where we we supposed to be in the early morning. It is also within easy reach from Gatwick Airport which is most convenient for an early flight but do not panic, the hotel has double-glazed windows everywhere and you will enjoy a quiet night ! A lovely breakfast will also await you.

Great location. You are very close to the airport but not a chain hotel captive for the night. Easy bus right out the door to Gatwick or they’ll call you a cab. In quiet neighborhood, and you can walk to a range of good restaurants in 5 minutes. We had an excellent Turkish meal. Very courteous and helpful concierge. Room was small but comfortable.

The hotel is conveniently located, just a few minutes of walk once you clear customs at the Gatwick airport. It has everything a passenger of a late night arrival flight would need: bottle water, clean towels and a comfy bed. Had a pretty nice sleep there.

Location excellent as Horley is far enough away from Gatwick airport to be quiet, but short drive away by hotel shuttle. Good choices at their restaurant but we went for short walk to stretch legs and ate at Farmhouse pub, lovely meal, historic building.
