Small but perfectly formed. Like home from home with everything taken care of. Condiments, cleaning, more than adequate kitchen utensils. Very comfy beds and sofa and decorated so gorgeously.

Just what we wanted for a short stay. Comfortable, quiet, relaxing. A well thought out arrangement of facilities, within walking distance of the town, but above all a charming, helpful host that did everything to ensure that our stay was everything we had hoped for.

really lovely cute place with smart interior and bags of character
my mum had the attic room and I was on the sofa bed, which was amazingly comfortable!
even provided with a bottle of milk in the fridge for that cup of tea you want when you first arrive!

so much nicer than a hotel room
Stamford is a very pretty old town in Lincolnshire.
Stamford is a very pretty old town in Lincolnshire. There are lots of restaurants and old pubs and old hotels to stay. There is a high street with independent shops to browse. The biggest attraction is the architecture of the buildings, it's like going back in time a hundred years.

It is a stunning town, with great historical architecture, and all the shops have been carefully designed to blend in as much as possible. There is a wonderful array of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and a street market (which I missed), and I wish I could have stayed longer. It is very lovely to walk around, with wonderful views and buildings around every corner. I came specifically for the International Music Festival, which I enjoyed thoroughly. It is also an extremely dog friendly town, with many cafes, bars and restaurants welcoming dogs. I hope to return for a longer visit - soon.

Stamford is a beautiful Georgian market town with lots of things to do and places to visit nearby. Shopping is very enjoyable as there are plenty of independent shops as well as the usual clothing chains. The Friday open air market was excellent and there were lots of bargains to be had. The choice of restaurants and cafes was very good. We can recommend Amore for its Italian cuisine and Kancchi for Indian/ Nepalese food, but would advise that you book in advance if possible.

I love old character buildings and this certainly is a lovely old character building.
The location is good with most amenities in Stamford within a ten to fifteen minute walk.
On site parking is a bonus.
Would I stay again ? Yes, very much so, whilst there were a couple of little niggles overall I enjoyed the experience.

Easy to get around hills are gentle and manageable for those with limited walking. The Hong Kong Chinese restaurant is very good, but needs to be booked as tables go quickly. Street market on Fridays and a lots of boutique shops. The St Martins Antique centre offers a extensive range of interesting collectables.
Premium Taxis are very reasonable £3.00 from the High Street back to the William Cecil Hotel.
We stayed for our 13th anniversary, immediately disappointed to find that a dinner jacket and smart shoes were needed to dine in the formal dining room. If booking.com had stated that this was needed i would have brought with me. We decided to eat elsewhere and come back for drinks later in the evening, the hotel bars/snugs and reading rooms are extremely cosy, the hotel is an ideal location to visit the surrounding area and Stamford. Breakfast was excellent and the staff made us feel extremely welcome.
Great location, walking distance to everything as really close to town center, easy access with convenient parking, very well equipped, has lovely cozy courtyard area with pretty lighting and flowers/shrubs. The property is situated approx. 100ft from the Stamford Meadows which has open grass areas, a pretty river running through it and wonderful views of Stamford
Beautiful old pub with very historic rooms, the breakfast in the morning was fantastic and all of the staff were super friendly. Stamford is a great place to visit and would highly recommend staying at the Bull and Swan. Also had very nice luxury toileteries in the bathroom and homemade cookies on arrival - the added extras make this place extra special.
The Old Barn is conveniently located alongside the meadows central to Stamford High Street. Metered parking is close by with no charges for Sundays. All essentials are here, plus complementary pint of milk at arrival, ensuring readiness to get a needy cuppa. Loxated, Off the high street, noise is not too intrusive.
The house is lovely. Room was sparkling clean, spacious, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was spotless. Katie is really nice and she offered a delicious breakfast. Location was incredibly convenient, 2min away (if that) from the station, and a short walk to Stamford's city centre.
Excellent one bed house with a full kitchen. We had a really comfortable stay with the added bonus of a dedicated parking space. We only able to stay three nights unfortunately as there is so much to do in and around Stamford. Thank you for the welcome pack.
This was probably the best experience of the many hotels we have stayed at. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was excellent and the food good (although maybe a little expensive). The grounds and walks were superb.
Off road parking
Very clean and well maintained. Nothing felt old or used.
Close to town centre
It was almost half the price of my friends hotel room
Plenty of space, it's a whole house and a garden
Friendly neighbour
Room was stunning, overlooking church, bathroom lovely, breakfast was very tasty and location (Stamford) is just beautiful. Pub part of hotel, was so pretty, all decorated for Christmas, would def stay again.
My first stay at the George since AC became available. I highly recommend ensuring your room has it during the summer.
The hotel was very well staffed and everyone was super polite and helpful.
The most beautiful location convenient for Stamford Burghley etc The hosts were wonderful and super helpful. Our stay was relaxing and peaceful and exactly what we were looking for.
We loved the location. The facilities were great. Everything was to hand and very near the centre of Stamford. A delightful host and will definitely stay again when in the area.
Fantastic position. Close to Stamford centre yet really quiet. Big bonus to have a garage connected to the property. Having 2 separate bathrooms was very useful.
