Great place we went out of season but there was still enough bars and tavernas open, but many more to open and they looked good also. We also had two dogs with us and we and them were welcome everywhere. Could not fault the friendly people and the hospitality we had at our hotel and bars and tavernas was first rate. A very nice village by the sea. Lots of options for eating out including tavernas at the next beach to the east. Ferry service from the harbour and tour boats for fishing a sightseeing. One of our favourite locations on Crete.

After coming from Paleochora, I’m afraid Agia Galini was a huge disappointment. It looks tired and run down and the beach is less than spectacular. Ag. Galini is a beautiful small city, located on the hill. Although is a touristic place its quite and peaceful. Everything is near and you don't need the car to move around. AC works well and quiet even during a heat wave (July 2022). I think the relatively low cost of the hotel room is mainly due to the high concentration of hotels in the small town.
