The originality- an authentic experience. Dinner exceptional and great. Would have been great to have a menu in english/ french with the different dishes to a fuller experience of the tasting. Onsen experience was great as it had both inside and outside. Beautiful view to the ocean and mountains from our room.

The house is traditional style and amazing, you can enjoy the private Onsen. The room is comfortable. I was the only guest that day so the host took me to the seven waterfalls by car. So kind. Thank you

What an experience! We stayed at Mizumari during our honeymooon and I can honestly say we have never felt more welcomed, relaxed, and cared for than we did at Mizumari.
Taiyo and his staff are truly incredible and work to meet your every need. For example, when we arrived, we mentioned a specific drink that we had enjoyed on our trip. The next day, Taiyo had sent someone to find the item and served it to us in several different forms. Everyone was so attentive and kind, and we were incredibly sad to leave!
The food is incredible and plentiful- the best we had in Japan. We really loved the fresh and creative nature of the food, with a nice mix of seafood and meat dishes including locally sourced foods. The courses keep on coming so be sure to save space! We also appreciated that the staff was very helpful in recommending drinks pairings that go with the meal (and which are included in the booking price).
The space was recently rennovated and has a very clean and modern look. We stayed in room 1, which has a large living room, separate bedroom and a patio overlooking the creek with a gorgeous and large onsen tub fed by the hotsprings. The entire space feels very private and quiet. The location is also great, a few steps away from the start of the seven waterfalls hike (which we loved- we had it all to ourselves when we went around 10am), and only a 20minute drive from the coast, where there is limitless hiking and exploring.

The stay was very smooth and went as expected overall. Everything was as described and the host was very responsive to our questions beforehand. The villa itself was amazing! Our family went with a group of friends and had children with us and everyone had a great time. What's great is that all of the rooms have locks as well, so even with a large group everyone had their own space. Beds were large and comfy. Enough bathrooms to go around. The kitchen was very well equipped, it came with utensil essentials and a large supply of glasses and plates. The view outside is absolutely breathtaking! If you do end up staying around fall/winter, I would recommend checking in at the earliest check-in time to enjoy the view while it's still light out. I would definitely return when I have a chance!

This place is a luxury, you are treated exceptionally well, the staff is extremely helpful and kind and so very welcoming. The amenities and location are just amazing, you can walk along the beach as it's right across the street, There are only a few rooms so it is very peaceful, the onsens are amazing, the staff made us wonderful ice coffee to relax with outside as well. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Kawazu is a place I visit every year because of the sakura festival. Of course this year the festival was officially cancelled, but other than the cancelation being on paper nothing changed - cherry trees still in bloom, food and omiyage stands everywhere, but many other stands with temperature checks. Kawazu offers quite a lot, being the location of a novel from a Nobel prize winning Japanese author, waterfalls, garden, hot springs and a calm atmosphere. And not far from Tokyo.

There are just a few activities to do in Kawazu. Visiting the waterfalls was fun and beautiful, and the beach was a great, relaxing spot. You have to take a train to get to other places and other locations, and they don't run very often. Important to plan your day carefully (and review all train/bus schedules) to maximize your daylight hours.

We were in Kawazu in September and rented a car to drive to beaches; Kawazu is a typical small Japanese town that is slowly dying out; most places are closed down or have weird opening hours; there aren't many restaurants around so if you're staying in a place like we did, that offers no food it can be tricky. I had gone to Kawazu once before, during the sakura festival held in February and it was more lively and there were more food options at the time; the sakura trees along the river were beautiful. It is the main attraction of the town!

We arrived for the cherry blossom festival in Kawazu in mid-February. The trees were in full bloom and there was plenty of street vendors for delicious food.
We even got to walk to the beach and dip our toes in the (admittedly cold!) ocean.
Our stay was at a local resort, Amagisou, and I could not recommend it more.

The hike to the seven waterfalls was wonderful. Recommend taking the bus one way - it's cheap and convenient, and then you can do a leisurely one-way hike. Really glad we stayed at the Amagiso Hotel so we had unlimited use of the onsens on their grounds.
