We really liked the historic part of town - the Ribat is beautiful (with a great guide!). The archaeology museum is definitely worth a visit. The souk was an enjoyable pace and you didn't feel hassled. The restaurants were good. Taxis were cheap and easy to find.
City could do with a big clean up and shows clear signs of suffering financially, but that didn't take away from our trip.

I found Sousse to be a great place to visit if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. I was pleased to discover that the local people were friendly and welcoming, which made my trip more enjoyable and memorable.
One of the highlights of my trip was having a hire car, which allowed me to explore the surrounding areas and discover hidden gems such as the castle. It was fascinating to learn that the castle was the location for the popular movie Monty Python's Life of Brian. This made my trip even more exciting and memorable.
However, it's worth noting that if you're looking for a bustling city with lots of activities to do and places to see, Sousse may not be the best choice. From my experience, Sousse is more of a laid-back destination where you can unwind and relax.
Overall, I had a positive experience visiting Sousse and enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas. Thank you for taking the time to read my review!

The area is beautiful.
The area is beautiful. There are so many activities to do there. The transportation system is excellent and very affordable. You can walk almost everywhere really, but if you are lazy like me, you can either use your phone to order a Bolt taxi or just flag one down on the road.

I used Sousse as a base to travel to other parts of Tunisia by train and car. If you wanted a beach / resort hotel to just chill then this would be an excellent choice. If you wanted more exploration of the history and culture then Sousse is a little limited and I think would "do" all the local things in 2/3 days.

Sousse has a lot of history for a not so big town, walks around the winding streets medina is a real pleasure, forget the main way, try following the walls enclaves where people live and go shopping. There are ateliers shops there and you can see what their projects are. Visit the archeological museum, it is housed in a nice building and has a few interesting treasures. Walk on the beach, it is very relaxing.
This is a modest hotel at an outstanding price. There is nothing fancy here, but it is clean and comfortable and the folks that work there are friendly and welcoming.
The location is great if you want to visit the sites around Sousse. It is a 3-minute walk from the train station, with many places to eat in the area. It is also close to the Medina with its many sites.
Our room had a balcony and was quite comfortable. If we return to Sousse, we would be happy to come back here.
This is a budget hotel, but it does a great job for the price. We are regular visitors. Simple Tunisian style rooms that are clean and with working bathrooms. Basic cooking facilities and a fridge. Right by the sea front and close to the centre of town. Breakfast at the café next door is Tunisian style with an egg, croissant, cake, bread and jam and a cup of coffee. There is a cheap Tunisian restaurant across the road.
Dar Lekbira is in the heart of the Sousse Medina.(and not that easy to find) If arriving by car, park by the Central Bank of Tunisia. The building is a beautiful 700 year old house. The rooms are clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. The staff are very kind and helpful. You will really enjoy the breakfast. There are stairs to climb to the rooms. Do not expect luxury but you will enjoy the experience.
Each room is super original and gathers the personality of the owners and Tunisia. The location is inside the Kasbah, so far from the impersonal all inclusive resorts. The breakfast was an exquisite feast with all the local special delicacies (no full English in Tunisia thank you). So if you’re looking for a local experience, you hardly will get better than that.
The Stuff was amazing

The hotel was very well managed. staff were helpful, the facility is expansive and the pools are huge! The fitness center is the best one we have seen during our Tunisian trip. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices. Room was nice with a large balcony and a wonderful view of the pools and beach.
The hotel is situated in the centre of Sousse, close to Medina and a bus station. There are a lot of bank offices and different stores nearby, for a example, Monoprix. The furniture in the hotel is simple but comfortable. The lobby has very nice design. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help
I loved the interior design of the rooms. The mix between old and new decorations is incredible and it makes this hotel stands alone in the area. Super friendly staff. I had dinner by their chef and the food was so amazing (one of the best meals I had in Tunisia). Totally recommend it.
This architectural marvel is situated within the fortification walls of Sousse and is a couple of minutes walk from the souks. The Dar is beautifully restored, sparking clean and very, very comfortable. The ever-smiling Marwa served us the most delightful breakfasts. Must visit!
Very good and helpful staff, good location, internet with good speed compared to other hotels we stayed in Tunisia, clean and economical. The restaurant below the hotel was the most delicious food we ate in Tunisia

A very homey, traditional place with very welcoming hosts. Beautiful Tunisian style house, cozy furnishings, very comfortable bed and a rooftop with some beautiful views of the Medina...
The best hotel in Sousse and the whole Tunisa. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was amazing and clean. The food was so delicious and had a huge variant
I liked that it has a private beach, probably the best beachfront hotel in Sousse. Room service is plentiful. Location is so close to Medina and everything.
