I'd never stayed that side of the lagoon/bridge before. Finding a single, reasonable room in Venice was difficult in May. A 100m walk to the 6/6L/66 bus stop and a €1.50 fare (on the app) gets you in to Piazzale di Roma in 10mins (no stops). Cheaper and quicker than a €9.50 vaporetto ride in Venice!
I got a double en-suite with bath, TV, Aircon, for half the cost of a single box with shared bathroom, not including breakfast, in San Marco district. As it turned out I was really quite pleased not to be wending my way through busy dimly lit viale and calle to a hotel or competing for caffe e croissant at the best espresso bars.
Breakfast was standard self-service buffet selection. Quality: what you'd expect for a 3*. The juices were from concentrate and a bit watery. Cooked meats, sliced cheeses, pastries, cereals, toaster/preserves/honey, coffee machine, fresh fruit, boiled eggs.
I ate one evening in the restaurant; there's a separate review for that on Google 🤮 but I don't hold that against the hotel (I understand it's a franchise?) I was happy to eat in Venice and get a bus after dusk as there's nothing much to do in the Marghera area.
Receptionists were consistently very helpful, with good English.
There was a small safe. Plenty of white towels (refreshed daily if required), crisp white cotton sheets. There is a summer bed cover, but a winter weight one is available in the wardrobe. Both of my bedside lamps were out, but it didn't bother me enough to remember to say anything.
Choose Alla Bianca Hotel for its friendly, informal atmosphere, its comfortable yet affordable rooms and its quiet location only a 10-minute train ride from Venice's historic centre.

very good location, close to the bus stop and shops. The only thing we missed was a kettle in the room so we could have a cup of coffee in the morning. But apart from that, it was very nice, quiet, clean. The hosts were very nice. Everything was very good.:)
Regards.

The management was very accommodating.
The management was very accommodating. They gave us space to snack and visit with our friends and provided us with water. We were blessed and appreciative, especially since we didn’t feel up to going out.
Also, in the morning, the croissants were freshly made for us and the chef was willing to bake another for me if I had the time to wait.
Also, one in our group was ill and the management allowed her to stay longer while the rest of us toured.
VERY accommodating!!!!!!

Close enough to Venice, and decent and reasonably priced restaurants. Almost nothing to do or see, it can be a drag to have to commute to Venice. Not recommended for couples, maybe more a place for families or bigger groups to save some money over staying in Venice.

Quiet residential neighborhood not at all far from central Venice. One bus will take you to one of the main transit hubs and you can walk to all the canals from there. Highly recommended if you're looking for somewhere that's less touristy and more affordable if you're not afraid of figuring out public transit in an unfamiliar city.

Very convenient for Venice if staying on the island is too expensive. Trains take you to the centre and seem to be every ten minutes well into the night so you can fully experience the wonders. Marghera has bars and shops too for an early morning coffee. Quieter than Venice too.

Marghera is a nice, silent city close to Venice.
Marghera is a nice, silent city close to Venice. Our target was to visit Venice with family, and Marghera was a good choice to have a rest after a long day :) The public transport was really great, only 15 minutes to Venice. There are nice, cheap restaurants in Marghera and lovely coffee shops as well. Liked to stay here.
Not only did our host answer timely, but she also helped us get directions to the property as google maps had it wrong. In addition, she was very welcoming and helped us several times that we had questions. The next day, the continental breakfast was nothing like I've ever had. It was a complete buffet fit for a 5 star hotel. We were incredibly happy with our stay and look forward to staying there the next time we will be back in Venice.
Clean and modern apartment. Very comfortable bed. All you need to cook meals. The host even provided a bottle of sparkling wine on arrival.
Location: although it seems to be far from the old town, the bus is literally around the corner and takes you to Piazzale Roma in 13 minutes. Be aware though, transport can finish early (between 9 and 10 pm). But there is a late bus from Venice stopping nearby.
The staff was very friendly, and we were given directions to Venice. The bus station is only a few minutes from the hotel, and bus number 6 runs every 20 minutes to Piazzale Roma. Bus tickets can be purchased in the hotel for €1.50 per person.
The room was clean, and the elevator worked.
Excellent attention from the staff, they were always very attentive and helped us with everything. The hotel is very clean. The size of the room is more than enough for two people. Short walking distance to the train station, with a very close bus stop to Venice, a highly recommended hotel.
I think Hotel Roma deserves 4 stars...
Free parking behind the hotel, excellent room size, very rich breakfast, interesting surroundings for a short walk, pets allowed, close to the bus stop for going to Venice and friendly staff. What more do you need?
For each recommendation.
We have stayed here several times. The hotel is in a great location for getting into and out of Venice. A bus from Piazzale Roma will get you close to the hotel in under 15 minutes. It is very comfortable, and the owners are always very welcoming and accommodating.
The bus to Venice is very close. You can buy from thw hotel the tickets to Venice. The room is OK, beds are confortable. NICE for 1 night stay. The breakfast is one coffe and one croissant, enough for the morning start.
Nice new hotel with friendly staff and spacious rooms. Plenty of choice with the buffet breakfast but a bit more limited with the evening menu. The rooms were clean and quiet.
Bus links to Venice were great.
Clean and spacious room. Good breakfast. We sat outside the garden and had our breakfast, and we got serve coffee of our choice and was very good.
The buss stop to Venice was about 5min walk from the hotel.
The front desk staff was kind enough to give me directions to the bus stop on the way to Venice. The room was perfect. The hotel cat was cute. I would like to use this hotel again when I go to Venice.
There was everything good about this hotel. The location is near the bus and train station to Venice and to the airport. It was quiet there, the breakfast was good and the bed comfortable.
Very clean. Friendly staff and well maintained. Location is good if you're transiting through Venice airport as the hotel is close to airport and Venice city center by direct bus.
Very polite and helpful workers. The breakfast is basic but delicious. The property has a very good link between Venezia and Marghera, the bus is few steps far from the hotel.
All the room is comfortable and clean, the reception has tickets for the bus, and the bus station is just in front of the hotel, very convenient for going to Venice center.
Cheap hotel in nice residential neighborhood with good connection to Venice. Friendly staff. I was travelling by bicycle and could store it in a safe place.
Location was fine by me for the cost savings. Was easy to get into the city by bus and train from the hotel location. The breakfast was very impressive.
