The room was very cozy with a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. The onsen was very nice. The hotel is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from the train station and within walking distance of the lake and several restaurants. The view of Mt. Fuji from the lake is amazing! The restaurant offers a good breakfast with both Japanese and Western dishes. The view from the restaurant includes a stunning view of Mt. Fuji.

Initially, this hotel seemed a little remote but we came to appreciate being away from the crowded Kawaguchiko. The view of Fuji from the room was a real bonus. Staff were very helpful; breakfast very good. Very grateful to the hotel for minding our luggage on the day of departure.

For Fujiyoshida you can plan to stay 2 nights, it will be enough to enjoy different spots to see Mount Fuji and if you have plans to go to Fuji Q HIGHLAND you can also do it. Keep in mind that transportation in this town is not until very late so it can be very useful to rent a bicycle, motorcycle or car for better transportation.

When sunny, the town is very full of tourists. The train/bus station is very small for the amazing volume of vehicles and people that go through. So be prepared for crowded chaos at the station. Get the sightseeing bus pamphlet - this is a local town bus, the pamphlet shows you the attractions- it was handy. Popular attraction ropeway- great - but not remotely accessible- many many stairs and steep slopes. Good restaurant to the right of the exit of the ropeway.

We stayed for 3 nights - perfect for walking to sights like the pagoda, and a full day at Fuji Q. It meant we could choose our day according to the weather when most rides were open. There was a good variety of restaurants in the area, we had an especially good meal in ‘Aio’. Even in low cloud and rain it was interesting to wander round and fall into cafes and we had the pleasure of suddenly seeing the majesty of Mt Fuji when the clouds cleared. Fujiyoshida was a relaxing change to the tourist bustle of Kyoto and Nara which we’d just been to.

I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen.
I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen. I am very glad that I did not stay in Kawaguchiko, which is swamped by huge numbers of tourists from all over the world, causing long lines in every store anywhere near the train station. I got Mt. Fuji views from everywhere but my stay was relaxed and amongst the local Japanese, except at the Chureito Pagoda. Mountains and hiking paths were nearby. On my last day, I went to Kawaguchiko Station to pick up a bus back to Tokyo. One look at the long lines and tourists clogging the streets made me certain that I made the right choice to stay away from all that.

Fujiyoshida is a tourist area.
Fujiyoshida is a tourist area. Within half an hour drive around are ropeways, scenic areas, hikes temples and various other activities like quad bike riding, zip line, safari, rides, outlet shopping, etc. You need to be there to know what is there. For example, Mishima Sky Bridge is not just a scenic area but filled with lots of fun activities. A good time to go is to be able to catch the sunset on the bridge against Mount Fuji. Magical.

Fujiyoshida has some great viewing points for Fuji San, the town itself is quiet but has some lovely places to eat. Even though it is so close to the biggest tourist attraction in Japan it doesn’t feel busy with tourists.
The host Yumiko is the friendliest person we have met here in Japan. She speaks amazing English and we talked about our lives over dinner. The house is a beautiful modern Japanese house just built a few years ago. It is very close to the main Fuji station which can take you to all the nearby attractions. The view of My. Fuji from our room was incredible and we were lucky to have clear skies. Waking up at sunrise to see the mountain was breathtaking. She made us a delicious breakfast and made sure we knew how to get to our next destination.
A very comfortable house located within walking distance of the Chureito Pagoda and Honcho Street in Fujiyoshida. The facilities are complete, and the house is very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, so it is good for making simple meals or heating up food. This turned out to be a big bonus as the restaurants in Fujiyoshida are limited, and tend to close early. The location near the Chureito Pagoda is great because you can beat the crowds during peak periods such as the Sakura season.
Room and the two beds are spacious for 2 adults and 2 young children (5 and 8 yo). Location about 5 min walk from Mt. Fuji station. Easy to find as it's located by the main road. There's a supermarket across the hotel (I didn't go there so no clue what's in there). Light breakfast (ie breads, juice, tea/coffee) but enough to start the day. Coin washing machine and dryer as well vending machine for drinks available in the public area. Coffee, tea and hot water available at the reception area.
Check-in and out was pleasant and easy, the receptionist is well versed in Japanese, English and Chinese, amazing!
Facilities are clean, hotel has a modern feel, and room is bigger than expected. Location seems to be pretty good but we drove so it was not an issue, complimentary parking was much appreciated and the bigger parking lot is only a minute walk away. We could also park in front of the hotel if there are space, which was heavenly!
The host was super kind, she is a very nice person that can pick you up and drop you at the train station. It is a traditional Japanese house that is cozy, warm (I went during winter) and very important for me, it was so clean. Also, our room was quiet big and comfy and, the bathroom was very spacious with spare toilets (one for girls and one mixed). You a view of the Mount Fuji from the balcony, which is a plus!
Very nice hotel we stayed at a renovated room on a higher level. Very cool to look over the park. There is free parking available. Entrance to the park is free for hotel guests but you have to pay per ride or buy a day pass for 6000 yen. Onsen was also very nice. Very nice view from the breakfast hall but if it’s raining you will not see mt Fuji.
Excellent location near the train station/ bus station; very convenient. Entire hotel including room was clean and in excellent condition, and staff (owner, I think) was very helpful. Worked as a great starting point to climb Mt Fuji since it is clean and good value, and right by the bus station.
Traditional Japanese hostel. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful - they helped to book a bus to Tokyo and even cut the end off our walking sticks from mount Fuji so it would fit in our bags. The hostel was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here!
Hana, a wonderful and endearing person, at your service. We loved our stay! She is without a doubt the best host we met during our trip to Japan. If you go to Fujiyoshida you absolutely must stay there!
A big thank you for everything Hana
Maxime and Carolane :)
The place was clean and well maintained. I love how i can see the fuji mountain at when I was entering the hotel. There are 2 convenient stores just in front of the hotel and many places to eat near there too. It was quite far from the bus station but not that bad.
The hotel has hot spring. The breakfast is not bad. The room is larger than the usual hotel size in Japan. The view from our hotel room is stunning as can see the Fuji mountain very clearly. Only takes less than 10 mins walk from Fuji highland train station.
You can view the Mt Fuji clearly from the rooftop on clear days. We requested breakfast and dinner at the hotel and enjoyed Japanese dishes. Staff members were very polite and helpful.
Rooms are very spacious and different sizes of yukata are available.
We absolutely loved our stay! The host was so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The space is gorgeous, with an amazing view of Fujisan. I would 10/10 recommend this property to anyone staying in the area. Photos posted are views from the balcony.
The attached Onsen is great. I used it every day. I got a great price for my stay—cheaper than most business hotels, but with the added benefit of an attached Onsen and yakiniku restaurant. There’s also a convenience store right across the street.
Amazing place , the owner is so sweet and nice , she help a lot for you few day in fujiyoshida!! Probably the best hostel in all my trip in Japan !! ❤️ the place is a perfect location for the activities for see the Mount Fuji!!
The amusement park and roller coasters were amazing. This hotel is located right next door with convenient entry to the park. Had a great time. The room is spacious enough and was clean and tidy
