Back in 2019 I stayed at 123 hotel Fukuyama. It was not available this year, so I got this instead. Honestly, I don't regret it. Everything was an upgrade. The room is big, the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean.
I honestly have nothing to gripe about. This booking was a bull's eye.

Clean and spacious room with traditional japanese bathroom. The free snacks and drinks as well breakfast brought to the room felt like bonus services since the price is more than reasonable. Great place to stay...

The view of the castle was amazing. Right next to the station and convenient to shops. We had fantastic okonomiyaki just on the other side of the train station. There is also a small bakery that is worth trying.

Everything was just lovely. A beautiful room, with a great view of the surrounds, lovely dinner and breakfast, nice bath facilities. Its a great option in Tomonoura as it is in town rather than down the road, so everything is walkable. Shuttle service from Fukuyama station is very convenient. Richmond breakfasts are a primary reason why we chose this hotel. They are diverse, flavorful, and interesting, since they include both traditional and modern fare. The room was one of the most spacious we've seen in Japan, and looks quite modern. We actually came to this town of many in the area near Onomichi and Kurashiki especially to stay at this hotel. The basement of the complex the hotel is part of is a supermarket that had great values for travelling on the train the next day.
Very convenient if you're going to see Fukuyama Castle or want to be close to the station to go via bus to Tomonoura for example. There is a mall nearby, a traditional 50s, 60s type shopping quarter too, and Fukuyama Station itself has a lot of stores and restaurants, so you can get anything you need. There is also a full grocery store on the B1 floor a couple of steps from the hotel, and an Animate as well for anyone interested in Japanese manga and gamer culture.
Homey, clean and cosy. The host was friendly and customer-oriented. Free coffee, green tea (on disposable cups, not shared mugs!), and chocolate sweets up for grabs. This would be my go-to place when I visit Fukuyama again. Within a walking distance from Matsunaga Station (15-20 minutes) and the central pharmacy with a wide range of food and beverages and other products at affordable prices!

Nice & friendly staff, especially one of the female staff member who spoke fluent English. She explained everything clearly & patiently.
Beautiful sea view
Shuttle service from Fukuyama station made access very easy and were well looked after on arrival.
Quiet place and within walking distance there is small town facing sea ports with old houses.
Unpleasant experience liaising with booking.com & Anchor hotel. Hotel alleged my rate charged is for guests living in Japan, not for foreigners.
Hotel asked to rebook my reservation and to refund my original reservation to Booking.com here. It took more than 1/2 a day for the hotel to finally accept the initial booking.
The beds were big and the mattress was very comfortable. Everything was super clean and modern. The staff is nice and they give a free drink if you follow the hostel on Instagram. The location is also perfect, next to the station and castle. I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s perfect for one night.
Super friendly and attentive staff (especially Hanami, tusind tak 😁), beautiful view of Sensui Island, beautifully decorated room, great private onsen w/view. We also took advantage of the free shuttle from Fukuyama station to the hotel - very convenient.
The location is awesome, and there's a 7/11 on the first floor of the building. It's also really close to the big night life area of Fukuyama, so big plus.
Good room facilities. The staff's customer service is courteous. A panoramic view of Fukuyama Castle from the window. I wish I could have stayed longer.
