Hotel Spaander is located in a prime position in Volendam on the banks of the Lake Markermeer. This historical hotel dating back to 1881 has a truly authentic Dutch feel to it.

The Wi-Fi speed was absolutely incredible at almost 200 meg.
The location was amazing because it was so close to all the shops.
Everything in the apartment was a very high spec and comfortable.
Volendam Museum, which is just a short walk up the road is a real treasure trove of information. It’s really well laid out and very very cheap to get in. I discovered a group called the cats who were really big in the 60s and 70s, and it’s just my kind of music.

The stairs going upstairs were very steep and there was no bathroom up there for the bedrooms. Difficult at night.
Situated near the charming harbour, this stylish guesthouse provides you with light rooms and apartments, a bright bar area and a romantic Italian restaurant. Benefit from the free Wi-Fi connection.
Fantastic fishing village with the most hospitable locals.
Fantastic fishing village with the most hospitable locals. Plenty of bars and restaurants in very beautiful surroundings. Particularly enjoyed Lennons Cafe Geri's bar and cafe omejan who went above and beyond to help us find a suitable place to bring in new year

Volendam is a very quaint and cute town! We only stayed for a couple days and it was enough time to walk around the waterfront, shops and eat at a few restaurants. I would highly recommend staying in Volendam.

The hotel rooms were nice and comfortable.
The hotel rooms were nice and comfortable. There was balcony space but not clean so couldn’t sit out but could be the case because they were renovating.
We booked with breakfast and were disappointed because there were no vegetarian options for the hot breakfast. The selection of bread was good but the cereals and fruit were limited.
We were pleased with the rest of the hotel facilities - swimming pool was good

Very charming little town on see side, 20 km from Amsterdam with very good bus (316) connection, with a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops, around of little port. Worth to visit Cheese factory and Museum, for a perfect experience. I will like to visit again in summer time!

Volendam is well worth a 2 night stay, to allow for a trip to Marken Island, variety of sea view restaurants, walks, cycling or just to sit and have a coffee and watch the fishing boats and the world go by. Day trip is not enough. Would return again for a short break.

A beautiful coastal town packed full with character and charm, and lots of quant eateries overlooking the Markemeer, all within easy reach of Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans and Schiphol and connected by the highway network. A hidden gem that we'll definitely return to in future, but for longer next time!!
Pros:
Clean, clean, clean! I love how clean this place was, and such a great location. Close to the dyke with food, shops, and the ferry to Marken. Right next to the grocery store and about a 15 minute walk to charming little Pieterman beach. Fun hosts—super friendly and helpful people. Great place with kids.
Cons:
A bit of nightlife noise since you are right on the plaza so you may want to ask for a room in the back if this bothers you. Spiral stairs are a bit steep.
The Hotel Old Dutch is right on the road/walkway that separates it from the marina. All the shops and eateries are just a short walk from the entrance. A bicycle rental shop is about a minute away. The area has incredible charm. The beds and pillows were okay in terms of comfort. The morning breakfast was solid and included smoked salmon and fresh fruit. We arrived via train from Amsterdam Central, followed by an approximate 3-5 minute walk to the hotel.
everything is good. the room is so big, i didn't expect it for the Price. Breakfast was also good, but they serve it to you instead of getting it yourself. the Staff is friendly and approachable. the Place is really good for Leisure. there's an Indoor pool and bike activities. the Port is just 10 mins walk. and a lot of restaurants to choose from. it's quiet there and very relaxing. its just 20 mins away from Amsterdam.
We spent two nights.
Our b&b was great, comfortable, quiet, well appointed, super clean.
Location is superb. Walking distance to the stores restaurants and beach area.
The town is gorgeous.
We rented a bike and rode around. What a treat.
We would stay at B&B Cassandra again.
Hosts are welcoming
Parking is free and easy to get to.
Breakfast is well done and superbly presented.
The location of the hotel is perfect. This is a very nice small Dutch village with a lot of sharm.
The hotel staff are very nice and helpful, they sent additional information on parking possibilities nearby.
The rooms are really big with very comfortable bed.
You can go to Amsterdam with a bus which departs just from the corner and it takes less than 30 min.
It was very interesting to us as we did not expect a non traditional hotel with no lobby. But it did not made us feel any less as we were very interested on how to enter the apartment / room. Perhaps it might help to highlight in description especially for the elder group age to refer as they would prefer hotel staff for check in / room services etc.
The location of the house is just perfect! Right at the center of the touristic area but in a quiet part (we were there off-season). The only noise we heard at night was ducks walking on the street :)
The house had great facilities at the kitchen, although we did not really use.
It was very well heated even though it is an old house.
Hotel location in the heart of where we wanted to stay.
One of the best breakfasts for a 3* property in Europe.
Dinner at their restaurant: very good as well.
Room size: acceptable by Netherlands standards.
Personelle: awesome.
Parking: A five minute walk to the property ( located in pedestrian only area ).
We had a great time at the houseboat "WAVE". Communication was super easy and fast and the place looks exactly like it does in the pictures. The boat is perfectly located, it's very easy to get around with public transportation and walk to the bars and restaurants in Volendame. I highly recommend staying there!
The location of the property was excellent, you are right by the beach front and the town. The B&B was very clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi was amazing on a cold night. The host was very nice. Great stay.
Perfect location right in the middle of Volendam sea front's heart. Easy access to supermarket, bakery, cafes, pubs, shops etc. Kitchen facilities are more than enough for a few days. Good heating.
Great location for North of Amsterdam. Rooms have balcony. Exceptional breakfast with a reasonable price. Public transportation is nearby. On-site bar and restaurant are other +s.
Excellent and rich breakfast prepared with care every day.
Good isolated and quiet location but convenient for reaching the center of Volendam and Amsterdam.
