I highly recommend this hotel.

It's very close to several streets with shops and restaurants, which is highly recommended. The hotel has a nice vibe, a good breakfast, and a café. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Attractively set in Kyoto, insomnia KYOTO OIKE features air-conditioned rooms, free bikes, free WiFi and a shared lounge. This 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage space. This is a really lovely hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. We had a lovely room, with a comfortable bed and all the things you need for a stay, USB ports to charge the phone etc as we didnt have an adaptor for Japanese plugs, tea coffee, fridge, plus all the toiletries in the bathroom. Loved having an all day buffet breakfast, it was so nice to come in after a day in the cold and rain and help ourselves to a hot drink and a croissant. Loved the free bikes with the booking, and the staff were so helpful in getting the bikes for us. We really felt that nothing was too much trouble in this hotel, whether it was getting the bikes for us or offering advice on how to get to a temple or garden. It was a great location and so easy to walk to the Metro. We never understood the bus service but I am sure if you can get to grips with that its good for those too. The fantastic Ninjo Castle is just a 5minute walk.

Hyatt Place Kyoto features a restaurant, fitness centre, a bar and shared lounge in Kyoto. Japanese hospitality! Need to say more? Extremely clean and well organized. The location is more like a quiet area, not too many shops/restaurants/bars nearby. But if you are willing to walk 15 minutes, you can find more. The hotel entrance is sitting at the subway exit (6), so it's very convenient to access (well maybe expect when you need to carry your luggage up the subway stairs). The staff are nice, helpful and accommodating. Kudos for the modern coin laundry on-site.
