Both dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious, wide variety of dishes and we were very full after both meals. Private onsen inside the room was spacious and clean. the room itself was generously large too. Out of all the ryokans I have stayed in Japan, this room was one of the largest. The ryokan is located just a 5 min walk to the main area where you can see the lanterns illuminate at night. Highly recommended!

Guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor hot-springs baths and enjoy traditional multi-course meals. Kurokawa Onsen Bus Stop is a 10-minute walk away. Everything was perfect, especially the service. We took a bus there and the staff picked our luggage up at the bus station and let us explore the small town freely, and lent us umbrella since it was drizzling. The cook accommodated to our diet restriction and made us a very sumptuous meal at dinner and lunch. The Onsens are good too. There were not many guests so we basically enjoyed them as private ones. The place is 8 minutes hike from the town but since the staff offered us shuttle from and to the bus station, commuting is no problem at all.

The dinner was good. Fresh sashimi and delicious bbq. The yukata. The comfortable futon. It has 4 private baths which is excellent for shy people like me
This is not your typical ryokan but a modern one where nobody will wake you up at 7am for breakfast. Here, you can (almost) sleep as you please. 9 bungalows for 9 rooms. Each room has its own private onsen, one indoor and the other outdoor, in addition to the bigger "public" one. Staff is great. Dinner is superb, and so is breakfast. It's far, a bit remote but you must go for a peaceful and very charming moment.
A really great ryokan, the strong point was definitely the onsen ! 2 indoors baths, 2 outdoors baths non mix and 5 different private outdoor baths that you can “book” easily (just need to take the key if the bath is available)
Great location in Mount Aso in the heart of town. The onsen is a sulfur bath which leaves your skin feeling refreshed and Moisturised. There is a very conducive sitting room with fireplace and ground coffee provided. We were able to fit a family of 5 in the tatami room which is very unusual for hotels / ryokans. The tatami room is very comfortable. Nepalese staff are all English speaking and can help with translation.
Clean, spacious room with comfortable futons, amenities and everything included. Private onsen hot enough, indoor and outdoor onsen was clean, big and free flowing. Small ryokan so it is quiet and intimate. Service was attentive.
Our room was really comfortable, with a 3Tatami corner and a great view of Aso. They have a lot of Spa options including private onsen and pool which we enjoyed a lot. They had a collection of Yukata where you could coose to your liking. Staff was friendly and helpful and also able to help in English.
Amazing ryokan, top-notch service, English speaking staff Futon beds on Tatami was quite comfortable Dinner and breakfast was very tasty In the middle of Kurokawa onsen with everything in walking distance 7 Onsens, switching daily from male to female Tattoo was no problem, not even mentioned
