The accommodation was very well designed and comfortable, with a lot of attention to practical detail. I enjoyed my stay very much and would have extended it, had the hotel not been fully booked. Bruno, our host, was particularly friendly and helpful. A great detail were the juice, milk and typical sweets provided upon arrival. The location is excellent, just a few minutes away from all the sights. One of the best travel experiences for me, and the wish to return!

We stayed at Alto for one week and it was a great place to stay. We were messaged through whatsapp that our room was ready early which was very nice. When we arrived we were introduced to the facility by a very nice young gentleman called Joel and he provided us with all the information on the facility and also took us to see the room. The room was very nice and very new with a very nice fully equipped kitchen a nice dining/living room area an excellent bathroom and a spacious bedroom. Joel also showed us the gym, spa and outdoor pool which were all very nice and again spotlessly clean. There is also a safe in the room which is nice added feature. We parked the car which takes a bit of care and maneuvering, I actually found it easier to go to the top of the hill turn around and enter the garage coming down the hill but that was just my choice. The hotel is in a good location and maybe a 10 minute walk to the downtown area. breakfast was provide to us and you would submit your order through whatapp the night before and it would get delivered to your room in the morning, there is a good selection on the menu and enough to get you going in the morning and everything was very fresh. They have a maid service and they would come in every day when we were out and freshen the place up which was great, always good to leave a little token of appreciation for the people looking after you. Overall we loved our stay at Alto and would not hesitate to recommend to friends or family or stay there again for us in the future. The hotel is great value and kept spotlessly clean.

Very welcoming staff, even deep in the night when we arrived late. A great modern styled large bathroom, too. We spent the days self-catering, nice places for breakfast and dinner are in walking distance. If you plan to take a car there is plenty of public parking space directly outside but only free of charge on Sunday and at night.

The place is incredibly cosy and welcoming in a home-like way. Because of many objects of history of the discreet family, this makes you feel as residing at an interesting museum. If you enjoy self catering, the largest hypermarket and food court in Ponta Delgada is ten minutes walk away. It has a strong extractor fan but we did not fry any food. The host, Rita, is very helpful. The property is No 48 as in the address provided. Google map took us to No 20 on the same Rua/Street (just walk another ten doors forward). Additional five minutes walk to the big shopping mall. All sights, restaurants, and the port are within a few minutes' walk. Breakfast is the same every day but you can choose whatever you want.
